As a new homeowner, this was my first experience with hiring a roofing contractor. I went through the process of contacting different roofing companies and ended up with nine quotes ranging from $2700 to $4900. I was shocked at the range.
DVR come in with a very competitive quote and were very professional in assessing the job and explaining the quote. I asked Dmitriy a lot of questions before making a decision. He was prompt and professional in his responses. Note that DVR recommended and quoted Certainteed Landmark shingles where all the other quotes, except one, were recommending IKO. From my research I believe that the Landmark Shingles are a better product, but I’m sure that’s debatable.
So, on paper DVR was similar to the other companies and their quote was less than most companies, and they were going to install a more expensive higher quality shingle. Was it too good to be true? I don’t think so. Sometimes you find a good company who charges a fair price.
We had a leak in our roof and after signing the agreement Dmitriy implemented a temporary fix until they were able to do the full job. That was not expected, nor did he charge me for it. It was just good customer service and was much appreciated. When the time came to do the roof, the crew showed up at 8:30am, worked in a professional manner, did the job as stated in the contract, and cleaned up afterward. They were done by 3:30pm. Overall, the experience was good and they did a good job from what I can tell. My neighbour, who’s been a home owner for over 25 years and is a handyman himself, also agreed that everything looked good.
Thanks guys,
Dave
