I was really pleased with Zion and his team. We met to discuss design and size of the new deck and Zion made excellent recommendations, given the constraints in my back garden. My house is in the city of Toronto, I don't have a driveway and it's a flight of steps up from the road to the house and the only access to the back yard is via the alleyway between the houses. I had problems getting quotes from some companies because of this, but that was not a issue for Zion. His communication and customer management skills are fantastic, and he does what he says he will do. There was transparency throughout the whole process, including when the person he had originally planned to build my deck broke their hand. He let me know that there was a problem, but that he would have plan by the end of the week and would let me know - and he did. Trevor and Nicole did a great job. The new deck is stylish (design and size recommended by Zion) and it is built to last. I am now thinking about rebuilding my front porch and will definitely give Zion a call about it.

I engaged Royal Crown 2 years ago on the basis of good reviews from this site. I had several issues with them and am currently waiting for them to respond to a request to come back and inspect what appears to be a piece of siding that has fallen off a higher part of the roof onto a lower part (inaccessible to me but visible thr a window). The reason for getting this work done in the first place was because of squirrels etc that had chewed through the wooden fascia and had gotten into the attic. I got animal control to remove the animals and cover the hole with a piece of plywood. Royal Crown Al came and did part of the work on the first day, uncovered the hole and left it open over night and then finished the work the next day. Within about a week, it was clear that there were animals in the attic again. I had to pay animal control again to get them out and then I had to pay Royal Crown again to fix what had to be opened to get out the animals that they had let into the roof space. Part of the work was to install a leaf guard on the eaves. I really couldn't see it from the window, so I asked them to confirm by email and they did confirm it had been installed....I got a friend to come with a ladder and take a picture showing that no leaf guard had been installed. They did come back to fix this. Another annoyance was that after I had signed up with them and picked colours, I had to change my choices 2 more times due to lack of availability - so while they seem to have more choices that other companies, in reality they didn't. Royal Crown Aluminum has not responded to requests to come and inspect it since the spring. I have tried again with another email about 10 days ago. Still waiting...and obviously this is something I want to get sorted out before winter. It looks like I will have to get someone else to fix their work. I am not at all pleased
