The outside A/C unit wasn't turning on so Kurt from Jamison came to investigate. We had used them for the replacement of another one of our A/C units and was pleased with their work. Happens to be a loose wire in the unit and he fixed it without charge. He was very professional and courteous and the no-charge was icing on the cake. We would highly recommend Jamison for your HVAC work.

A city electrical inspector noticed that my old A/C unit's wiring wasn't to code so I gave Caper Electrical a call after seeing the reviews in Homestar. I wasn't disappointed because Hayden at Caper gave an estimate of the cost, which was competitive to two other quotes that I received, and was very accommodating in booking an appointment according to my schedule. He was very pleasant to talk to and was very professional. The work was done quickly under -20 C weather and he stuck to his quote. I would highly recommend Caper for any electrical work.

We originally had a Honeywell system but when the contact term ended in 2008, we switched to United Alarms because their monitoring fees were significantly lower. We did some research first and they seem like a good company. The motion detectors and door contacts were the original Honeywell devices but the control panels were United's. The installation of the control panels went well and there hasn't been any issues with the system for the 7 years that we had the system. Whenever we contacted the monitoring station for testing, they seem capable and knowledgeable. We noticed some earlier negative reviews on service, which we can't comment on since we haven't had any problems. Our experience has been good so far.

I was looking for a metal handrail for my front steps about 57" long and with curved ends. Eastside Ornamental's price was very competitive and the service was excellent. I dealt with Peter (the owner) and he installed the railing within a day of order (I didn't even asked for installation and he offered for the same price!). Highly recommended if you're looking for metal ornamental work like railings, fences, and gates.

Prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, honest and got the job done. What more can you ask for from a service company? Curt was quick to diagnose the issue and recharged the A/C fluid. I asked him about other work or equipment replacement and he provided a honest assessment and I didn't have to spend money needlessly. I recommended Jamison to my mother-in-law when she had problems with her A/C and she was also quite happy that he solved her problem quickly (just before some hot weather). Jamison Furnace is highly recommended.

Lakeview Floors is an excellent and highly recommended company. Our project was removing vinyl, carpet, and tile on the main floor and installing hardwood and tile on the main floor and 3 bathrooms. Had quotes from three companies and Lakeview was very competitive. Lakeview was the only one who was using Ditra as a tile membrane (the others had plywood - old school). Brad, our sales/project contact was very knowledgeable in the products and also the installation method. His project schedule was bang on. Lakeview accommodated small, last-minute changes to grout and stain colour. The end product was high quality, beautifully done, on budget, and on time. Brad and his construction people were good to deal with. However Brad may not be too responsive in returning e-mails or phone calls, so if there is anything important to discuss you will need to try to catch him when he is in the office.

Homestars is a great website! The appointment with Don from Peace of Mind was within a couple of days after calling him. This home inspection was a little different because my elderly parents were hoping to stay in their current home for another 10 years and I wanted them to know what they were faced with in regards to home repairs and the current condition of their home. Don was prompt, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He methodically went through his inspection and provided a detail report. He even identified items that posed potential hazards to their health (i.e. P-trap missing, potential moisture problem leading to mold, etc.). I would recommend him for this type of job.
