I first got to know Steve - the Master Electrician at Muskoka's Power Professionals - when he was working on a job at my brother's cottage. After moving to my new, remote location, I wanted to go off-grid solar (with a generator back-up), and also needed lighting for my recently constructed shop/garage; and now that work for both is complete, I will very highly recommend MPP. There is so much to say, but will attempt to summarize below the excellent job conducted by Steve and his team. Firstly, the solar installation. With respect to the required components, assembly and tasks involved - the whole process was made simpler than I originally thought after my initial research. Steve arranged for materials to be delivered to my location, or picked them up and delivered them himself. Work was done efficiently, safely, properly, professionally, with no cutting of corners. Setting up solar also involves construction work - concrete pads, heavy lifting, precarious placement of components (e.g. heavy solar panels lifted at significant heights above ground level) and so forth. Steve did this like it was second nature to him. Regarding the pole mount for the solar panels, he even used my tractor to place the 14-goot long heavy rigid steel pipe into a 2-foot wide, 8-feet long sono tube with recently poured cement! Secondly, the garage /shop lighting and electrical. Wiring was done fast and I was asked what type of lights I wanted. Made my selection, shop lights delivered and installed. Now it is nice and bright in the garage, which only has two small windows for natural light. Steve also arranged for the Inspector to come by so as to be sure everything was to code. Muskoka's Power Professionals were always kind and respectful, even with my many questions, and made sure to get my confirmation for placement of cables, drilled hole locations, and other structural modifications required to get the job done. Also, they were open to my suggestions. As in all such type work, sometimes unexpected issues arise, but were always promptly and calmly resolved. Steve is a MacGyver problem solver. An example: the supplier of the solar components wanted an excessive amount of money for specialized battery cables. Steve referred me to another supplier and obtained them himself at much lesser cost. Again, if the reader wishes to go off-grid solar, needs a generator installation and/or requires electrical work, then this reviewer insists that you contact Muskoka's Power Professionals.

I highly recommend Van's Delivery Service (North Bay, ON) if you are planning to move. My initial contact was with Heidi and Gayle, who were very kind, patient and knowledgeable, especially with regard to my many questions and phone calls about the moving process. In terms of indicating the quantity and types of things that had to be moved, working with Paul made it a breeze - immediately, he knew exactly what logistics were required. Mike and the guys, who picked up and delivered my stuff to my new home, were amazing: laying down pads to protect floors, quick, efficient, courteous. Also, I needed a shipping container at my new location - 1 2 3 it was delivered and done. Again, if you are planning to move, especially over a long distance as I did, I very much recommend that you contact Van's Delivery Service.

I had an entertainment unit, purchased from The Brick, and Ikeaman did a fantastic job at assembly. I called Ivan and he was prompt and courteous in response. A day was scheduled and Michael came to my place to assemble the unit. He, too, was courteous, and also efficient, quick and clean. 1-2-3 and it was done. I was very impressed. Very reasonable pricing. Let me thank Ikeaman its top quality service. In the future I might have to purchase a shelving system and, if requiring assembly, IkeaMan will be the person I contact.
