We have, in 2013, hired Mike to handle three jobs in our home.
Job #1 Main floor reno January 2013
Scope: overlay hardwood flooring, knocking out of walls, installation of trim, drywall, painting, sanding, electrical work, etc that goes along with the scope
On this job we would score the company a 7 or 8 out of 10
Issues: late to timeline, not all of the agreed upon work was completed quality of work, additional costs added on top of quoted costs, damage during reno, police complaints from neighbours due to middle of the night work during last 48 hours to deadline. To date some of the smaller details of the job did not ever get completed.
Job #2 Basement reno - repair after storm/flood damage – July/Aug 2013
Scope – replace drywall, carpeting removed by flood damage insurance company contractors & paint
On this job we would score the company a 6 out of 10
Issues: late to original timeline, damage to household items moved around during work, mess not cleaned up each time they were in working and tracked thru other areas of the home, work had to be redone/not square
At the same time as the basement reno – we have the company quote for Job #3 – build & install a bar in basement
Scope: build a bar off-site to spec, bring in and install, install flooring in behind, bar sink, and some other basement trim work at same time as install
On this job we would score the company a 0 out of 10
Issues: quote receipted, timeline for completion agreed upon, deposit provided. Company never responded to multiple requests to view progress of the bar assembly (which was being done off-site). Company never responded to multiple requests for updated timeline. Agreed on timeline has passed and company has not responded to multiple requests for follow up, new timeline and/or refund of the deposit amount paid for the job which has never been started nor completed
The quality of work from this contractor has continued to go downhill with each subsequent job. Overall rating a 3 out of 10
