LETTER TO PREMIER VAN LINES: It`s been nearly two years since we made arrangements with Premiere Van Lines of Mississauga to move us from Brampton to Wasaga Beach on Nov 15, 2013. We have been very busy since then, plus we have dealt with cancer in between and now feel it necessary to remind your company that we totally picked the wrong movers! We had items in storage, and my husband took the movers over to the storage area and left them to load. This was a very bad idea as they were obviously just casual labour workers and literally THREW everything into a small moving van without wrapping anything, as was obvious when the damaged goods arrived 5 days after our move: 1. Bicycle: seat ripped, chain protector broken and brake harness broken 2. Two individual cracked lamps, both from matching pairs 3. Four-seater bench seat from E350 Van: Fabric ripped, and underside hitch clamp damaged 4. Light-maple bench seat container with lid: scratched and chipped 5. A beautiful garden ornament -- Herring Bird Art Work made of granite, broken 6. We still cannot find 2 boxes of china that went completely missing! We took pictures of all the damaged goods and emailed them to the president of the Premier, as we thought he would want to know what his employees were doing, but he did not reply and when we phoned 10 days later, he had just left for Florida. We were not particularly concerned about the cost of these damaged items but really wanted a written apology to explain why the company would hire such careless workers but no reply ever came. The Premier salesman, Frank had also offered us a $50.00 promotional offer, but that was never given to us. A very important fact in our minds was that the movers eluded to tell us that the small moving van had not arrived on moving day until AFTER our credit card had been charged. While Darren the driver was getting into the van to drive away, he casually told us that one of the men in the small moving van had injured himself and that the rest of our contents would be delivered the following day. Had we known this we obviously would have withheld payment until delivery of ALL our contents. My husband & I had both been up all night and were INSIDE the Wasaga Beach house putting our contents in place while the movers were unloading OUTSIDE. We had not moved in 30 years and trusted Premier to do a good job that day. How stupid were we! We should have gone with another moving company, as two of our friends used them to move to Wasaga Beach several years before and told us that their moving day was a dream. Those were their exact words. Carlos had given us a hand-written quote but unfortunately we decided to go with Premier, who gave us a very formal printed quotation and we found the website to be very impressive but later found it was completely false. Premier advertised that their movers were professionals, wore uniforms, and were punctual. None of that was true. Just goes to show that you should never believe claims companies make in their web sites. Word of mouth is the only way to go. Needless to say we have told everybody we know about our nightmare move with Premier and will continue to do so. In fact today we just referred another couple to another moving company in Brampton.
