We initially bought our engineered flooring from Tri- S flooring before they moved to Keele and Hwy 7 and recieved very good service from Jimmy. They hit a major hurdle when we ordered and set up a delivery and installation date, before we moved in. The factory did not have any inventory of the wood we had ordered, which was a click lock type floor. Jim, and Reny found the same wood in a tongue and groove glue type floor, and though the installation cost was greater, they agreed to absorb the cost. The install was done on time and on budget, and the floor was done beautifully. Unfortunately with in a couple of months the floor started to show what we eventually found out was face checking. Within 6 months almost all of the boards showed this.I went to see Jimmy at Tri S to show him what had happened to the wood, and he set up an appointment with his "floor expert". They called me within a week and set up an appointment for the following week. We also at this time were under a major kitchen renovation, and while installing a water line to our fridge, did not install a proper connection to the line and flooded the entire place, and destroyed the floor completely. A few days later when Aivor from Tri S called to set up the appointment, we explained the situation. He still showed up and agreed that the remaining floor was no good. He would not replace the water damaged floor, but would replace the floors in the bedroom that were not damaged. He sent a report to the manufacturer. To fast forward to the end, we had to pay for an entire re-install, and got credit for the bedrooms. On the re-install, Aivor sent his installers, who we paid extra to move furniture, ended up barely finishing the job, did not move any furniture back, and told my wife that they quit, and would not come back. They had only finished the living and dining area. We had to wait a couple of more weeks to have the bedrooms done. and the next bunch of guys were not much better. After a few weeks, the new wood we had chosen which was click lock bamboo, began to separate in different areas, so we called Aivor to send the guys back to make some adjustments. They did the adjustments, and left about 2 inches of space between the wall and first board, which should have required a new board put in place. what transpired after that is where they really blew it. It took nearly a month to try and set up an appointment, and the guys who showed up did not even wait for the service elevator to be opened for them, they just left. When I called Aivor to ask what had happened he went berserk at me on the phone, telling me that he did not have to do the repairs because the problem was in my condominium, not his flooring, and after sending him several emails, and photos he has never taken another one of my calls. It is my opinion that Tri S floors only sells sub standard flooring, they do not sell any national well known brands, and their installers really do not know what they are doing. I would never recommend this company for anything, as their customer service in appalling, and their business practices are questionable.
