I would like to begin by voicing that I have never left a poor review for any company before; I am not one of "those crazies" who is impossible to please. But after my encounter with Mr. Rooter I can't express enough how belittled, frustrated taken-for I feel. I e-mailed Mr. Rooter to set up an appointment, where I informed them of the slow drains throughout my house and requested their grinding service (as my basement tenants had likely poured fats, and who knows what else down the drain). They called me back the next day to set up an appointment and discuss my requests further. I had worked a 16hr night shift at the hospital the night before, and was asleep during their visit, so my husband worked as my proxy to pay them... naturally assuming they where going to "clean out" the drains as I had requested. Instead of grinding the pipes (which I had specifically requested) the technician pulled hair out of my upstairs bathtub and removed a foreign body from the downstairs sink. Charged $205. When I called and requested to speak to customer service/management as to why they had charged me for something so simple, and not snaked/ground/flushed as I had asked, I was informed that there was no need to scope/grind, etc... and that the technician was in fact SAVING me money by not preforming the speciality duties that had been requested. She very much worked her de-escalation magic on me, and I felt taken-for of $200, but I got over it, as the problem was supposedly "fixed". WRONG. SO VERY WRONG. My basement flooded the next night and into the following day causing so much damage and anger from my current renter. I have since had another Rooter-company come, scope the drain, and inform me that what I had requested was what should have been done in the first place. I'm no plumber, but I'm also no dummy. Shame on you Mr. Rooter, I will most certainly be sharing my experiences with others.
