Better Movers came highly recommended by several of our friends and after proper inspection about insurance we felt comfortable going with them to move my mothers belongings. They packed in January and placed her belongings in storage until her return and move in May. Her new apartment was a bit complex to move into and they were not pleased with the set up. After the move we noticed several of her antique furniture had been damaged but worse were the two boxes full of fine china where every piece of china was broken. They had packed the silverware on top of the china with little protection. When we inquired about compensation, they told us they would only pay $150 to cover the damages. Needless to say, this is little compensation for the antique china broken and other damages. We needed to insist they come to see the damage and even then, did not offer any further compensation and even claimed we could have broken the dishes as we had access to the boxes in storage before the final move. It is therefore rather unfortunate that such highly recommended movers could be such a disappointment.
