I purchased and hp laptop from best buy in mississauga and bought a $250 extended warranty for it from geek squad. The laptop's battery stopped working a year later and after contacting best buy i was told that it could be replaced for free because it was covered by that warranty. This was confirmed by the person at the associate at best buy when i turned in the laptop. It took them two months to "fix" my laptop and when i went to pick it up i was told the battery replacement wasnt covered by the warranty and they just reinstalled the windows in my laptop and wiped all the data instead. This took them 2 MONTHS to do! They installed windows 8.0 which wouldn't updated even after me trying to do it 5 times. The windows has now crashed a month later and my laptop won't turn on. So basically they have poor slow service and the employees barely have knowledge of their services. No point paying extra money for the warranty. I would recommand yoi spend that money on getting the repairs done from somewhere else where it would be faster and might even cost you less.
