The quality of the build was very good. The budget was not in line with what we thought was included. The lesson we have learnt from this unhappy experience is in future to write up a detailed scope of work for the entire project before signing any contract so there can be no conflict or confusion later.

We are sorry to hear your dissatisfaction with what you received for your hard earned dollars, which is extremely uncommon for us, as this is the first time we have heard this among our dozens of clients.
The confusing part for us is that we brought the project in for $50,000 under budget, which would have easily paid for the items that you took under your own control and decided to finish for yourself. This was also a first for us as builders; we have not before had our clients take on finishing certain aspects of the home themselves. In hindsight, we realize that your refusal to trust us or our time proven process led to far more work for all of us involved, including yourselves.
We respectfully remind you that we clearly laid out from the beginning that we have a time-tested and trusted team, that we do not chase low prices and low budgets, but have rather carefully created trusting relationships that provide high level of quality for market value. Your desire to chase big box store deals has not ever been a part of our model, and in hindsight we do realize we were clearly not the right fit for your approach to doing business.
In short, we built you a home that takes full advantage of the amazing views from many angles and many rooms, executed with extremely high quality, and did all of this without exceeding the original budget.
