When I needed to replace my roof, I checked HomeStars to find a reputable contractor, and found Turnbull Roofing to be one of the most highly recommended roofing companies to work with. I called and set up an appointment with Steve Turnbull. Steve arrived on the day and time that we had agreed upon, and explained exactly what needed to be done. Although I was only planning to replace my roof, he recommended topping up the attic insulation to current R60, and offered a discount on the insulation if I wanted to do both, which I did. They replaced the shingles in late summer 2016, but the attic insulation was scheduled for Jan-Feb 2017 (too hot to work inside the attic in summer). Both jobs were performed on schedule, and the final bills were exactly as quoted (no surprise charges). The crew performed a fairly thorough cleanup upon completion of each job, although I did find a number of roofing nails on the ground that their magnets missed. Overall I was pleased with the work and my dealings with Steve and his crew.

Steve provided me a quote to do an assortment of repairs related to water damaged brickwork and concrete foundation cracks. I felt the price was reasonable especially considering some of the repairs turned out to be more work than we originally thought. I was concerned that there may be an up charge because of these unknowns, however the final price was exactly what he originally quoted, a great relief to me. The workmanship was excellent and he was able to match my bricks perfectly. There is no way to tell the new bricks from the original. Steve is very skilled in brick restoration as well as concrete repair. I had two smaller foundation cracks repaired and one very large concrete porch repair done by Steve. I was very impressed by the workmanship and his ability to tie the repairs back into the original concrete. I truly enjoyed working with Steve; he is honest and up front in his communications with me. I will be using his services again in the spring for some related projects that I wasn't able to get to this year. Thanks for everything Steve! Steve always kept me up to date on what he was doing, how he would do it and when each part of the project would be completed.

What impressed me the most about heritage was before the work was done. I described the number, colours, style and approximate sizes of the windows to Walter. When we met shortly after, he had drawn up a specification sheet for each window so I could see exactly what I was getting. His installers came out to take exact measurements and I then received final drawings for each window which I then approved. All of the windows were exactly as I specified. Upon approval, the install was tentatively scheduled for about 2 to 3 weeks later. Walter called and firmed up the install date. The installers were on time and completed the work within the day. They finished up by cleaning and removal of all debris and then a final walkthrough to ensure I knew exactly how the window mechanisms worked. I was very impressed by both Walter and his installers, and would recommend them to anyone planning to replace windows.
