One of my friends suggested me to try the glass inserts instead of replacing my front doors. I used homestars to locate Distinctive Glass inserts and called Grayson. I was looking to re-do my kitchen, powder room and landing area tiles and came across Brothers Flooring in Homestars. I sent a text message to Faddy and right away he called me and we discussed about the requirements. He scheduled time with me very soon and visited our home to take the measurements and within a couple of days a detailed estimate was sent to me from his office. Faddy had good suggestions and recommendations on tiles lay out, combinations that would match our home, material purchases which made me comfortable that I am working with someone knowledgeable. Faddy's office staff, Michelle was always kind enough to answer all my enquiries, and very diligent in the planning, giving heads up calls and scheduling the work. A day prior to the work, the tile was delivered to my home. The day of work, Faddy and Fahad arrived on time and started to move all the appliances, cover them with sheet, cover the floor to prevent scratches on the hardwood and created plastic barriers to contain the dust of the work. The demolition work was done right after, the work was fast and completed in 2 days. At the end of each day, Faddy and Fahad cleaned up the area and neatly kept all the tools away- a great sign of being respectful of the workspace. Once all the demolition was completed, the tiling experts came (Thomas and Team), also George the co-owner of the company. George explained to me the various layout options of the tiles so the grain pattern looks even. At every stage, where my opinion was required, George called and explained the options and made sure that the work is done to meet my requirements. The tiling work is time consuming and I could observe that Thomas was careful at each step to keep the level of tiles and reducing the number of cuts to give a clean appearance. In between, anytime, I could reach Faddy to ask about options, next steps etc. At the last day of work, George came for an inspection and along with Faddy, Fahad and a specialist plumber- reassembled all the appliances, washroom etc. The total work lasted just 5 days and the final efforts for another 2 days- exactly as Faddy promised me at the start of the work. Pre-work: I decided to get my roof done and started my search for a good roofer. I did some homework on what to look for in a roofing job. The first roofing company I contacted was Roofs on Homes. Their office staff was friendly and arranged an appointment with Rich. Rich came on time and well prepared with materials, information about the company, insurance details, brands and colors to chose from. I was impressed with the professionalism of Rich in his first visit itself. Since this is a major work and also since I was not having good knowledge on roofing, I decided to take few more quotes. My inquiries were not limited to cost alone- I had a checklist for each roofer- about their company, website, reviews, brand of shingles they use, types of warranties provided, how is the after install service, what kind of estimate details they provide, WSIB, Liability insurance, referrals etc. While some companies gave satisfying answers on many of these factors, none gave me the confidence in answers like how Rich did. Install: I got a tentative date from Rich and he kept me informed and gave me enough heads up on the schedule. The bin was delivered on time, the staff arrived on time, shingles were delivered on time- everything was well organized. Every staff member worked on their defined roles (spreading the sheets on the perimeter of the house, keeping plywood to cover glass panels etc). It was a nice experience to watch a well organized full day effort from the entire team. Danny and Chuck were a part of the team and that gave me a lot more confidence. Rich visited during the work and kept in constant touch with me over the phone. Overall- great experience and I understood how much tough this work is. The day the work was completed a good clean up was done for the entire home surroundings and neighbourhood. A follow up cleaning was done next day to ensure there is nothing left out. Summary: If you are a customer like me who keeps quality of materials and quality of the roofer as top priority, you need someone like Roofs On Homes. I was planning to perform a home renovation and was taking quotes from various contractors for a few months. I checked homestars and called 310 Reno. Left a voicemail and within half hour I got a call back from Dom. A few hours past he was in my home, did all the measurements, gave me the various options I can plan for. Very professional and practical suggestions. Dom also gave me a few references;I visited the work site and liked the way the work was progressing. I signed up with Dom and I am extremely pleased with him and his team. I did not have to bother much on the progress of the work- it was progressing at times ahead of schedule. Dom would discuss with me any options which he felt needed a change and gave me good directions on every item I was planning to buy. I work pretty late hours and was surprised to get responses to my questions from Dom via text messages, the same night - Passion: Dom has a passion for his job and takes pride in it. I have felt this on multiple occassions. Dom has the timeline always in his mind, comes in on Sundays to prepare ahead for the next team to start the tasks planned for the coming week The end product is absolutely amazing. I did some research for installing a porch enclosure for my home and called a few numbers for a quote. Most of the companies I called either did not call back or did not send a salesperson on time or in some cases made me do the measurements and I got a guess "quote" over the phone.
