BIG SHAM. This is foolishly the second time I've used Handybook. I thought maybe the first time was a fluke. But it was the exact same experience this time around. The cleaner alluded to being underpaid and kept in the dark by the company, while she worked. She didn't finish the job by a long shot, and just left after the two hour period (small one bedroom). It seems to me, Handybook doesn't vet their employees at all, and/or severely underpays them, to the point that it's just a onetime gig. When I called Handybook to have another person come in and finish the job, they told me nobody was available until after the holiday. I had to have this place cleaned for the owner of the apartment for whom I was housesitting. Now I look like a jerk. I'm now hearing stories from other people who used this service and had the exact same experience, repeatedly. I'd bet my right arm that those 10 star reviews are phony and written by the company itself. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a crowdsourcing startup. Make no mistake - this is NOT the uber or airbnb of cleaning services. This is much closer to a straight up sham. And by the way, they're censoring my review by making me omit a word that rhymes with "sham."
