Once again, Journeyman Carpentry delivered professionalism and expertise as they beautifully finished our 1920s basement. They transformed a completely unfinished space into three functional and beautiful rooms: a rec room, a three-piece bathroom and a laundry/utility room. As usual, throughout the process Dan keep us informed about any unforeseen issues that arose and guided us to make choices we were happy with. Our basement quickly became a great extension of our home and a favorite hangout spot for all. Thanks again to Dan and his team for all their hard work. Since our last review almost two years ago, we have called upon Dan and his crew at Journeyman Carpentry for all our renovation needs. They removed our old deck and summer kitchen, upgraded our roof and installed some pre-finished wood siding. During the roof work, Dan discovered structural issues keeping the air from flowing properly. He informed me right away of the problem, explained the options to me clearly and got right to work fixing it. He created a path for the air to flow around the roof so that our new shingles would last longer, thus saving us money in the long term. This is just one example of how Dan puts the quality of his work first. I appreciate working with a contractor that I know will bring each issue to my attention and who is willing to do everything necessary to fix it properly. During this project, Dan even fixed issues previous contractors had created or covered up such as a bathroom fan that had not been vented properly to the outside. As a result of their work and professionalism, Journeyman Carpentry has earned our trust and loyalty. They will be finishing our basement this winter.

Dan Burt from Journeyman Carpentry really saved the day when our general contractor stopped working and stopped returning my calls. When I explained to him the predicament we were in, he made time in his schedule to complete the structural work we needed done so that the other tradespeople could do their work. He showed up early every morning and worked all day until the work was complete. He was competent, professional and went out of his way to make sure the work was done well, on time and to our liking. He took care of all communication with our engineer and city inspector. He also took the time to keep us informed as to his progress and any surprises he encountered. It was so nice to work with such a reliable, professional and helpful individual. We recommend Journeyman Carpentry highly and look forward to working with Dan again.
