MJR on Rhodes

Avonlea renovated my small bathroon, taking it from a nasty little bathroom of very poor workmanship with a small tub and low shower head, to a beautiful refinished shower room. They did a complete gut of the room. John was very clear about costs and how they work, so I knew what to expect. Clive who did the majority of the work on the room was hardworking and very pleasant. The renovation took a week longer than expected but then the custom shower doors came in a week earlier than expected, so the job was completed on time and on budget. Only thing to note is that they finish to paint ready. YOu have to bring in your own painter (or paint it yourself). I used the services of Eric Rosser (ericrosserpainter@gmail.com) who is an experienced professional painter. I'm really pleased with how the room has turned out and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Avonlea (or Eric Rosser).

At first I thought I wasn't going to hear back from Mr RoofRepair.ca, as I didn't get a response to my email request, but when I followed up with a phone message, I got an immediate call back. The terms were explained to me (no free estimate, they come out and do the work for a set minimum charge, etc., and that they send photos of the work they do) and because rain was expected in a few days I agreed. The repairman was able to do the work the same day. He called me to tell me he was coming (I wasn't at home), then called me again to give me his assessment of the problem and that he would likely take a bit longer than the minimum time to fix it. He had a very pleasant phone manner, the work was done quickly, and the company followed up on the job, first sending me an email with a copy of the paid invoice and a link to photos of the job, and then following up a week later for my feedback. I have my fingers crossed that they did fix the problem (because water can be tricky), but I was impressed with the company and would recommend them.

I called up Paul after reading other reviews on HomeStars. He came and first looked in our utility room and pointed out that there was a lot of leakage from the heating system at the source and that it could be fixed in part by using aluminum tape. On each level of the house he made recommendations on how we could improve the heat distribution, and he didn't try to sell his services to us. We implemented several of his suggestions the next day and noticed a considerable improvement. We would definitely recommend him and consider using his services when our ducts need to be cleaned again.

The small but really efficient and hard working team arrived on time and did an excellent job of pruning several trees, removing one tree and some hedges roots, and cleaning up after them. I would definitely recommend them.
