I renovated my kitchen and fireplace recently and ordered kitchen countertop with Granite Installation. I also allowed them to put granite to dress-up my fireplace. An appointment was set to install for Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. I made the owner award that I took a day off. I waited and waited .... finally at called the office around 9:45 and the receptionist told me that the installer is scheduled to be at my place at 11:00 a.m. (I was not aware of this change. The owner and husband came to my place around 12:00 noon without the installer, they indicated that they had a car accident and that the installer will be at my place at 3:00 p.m. Again, I waited, I was told that the installer was in Oakville and had an issue at the job site, I was told he will come around 6:00 p.m. I getting very annoyed and upset for wasting my time. I waited till 9:00 p.m. and finally I was told the job will not be done at all; instead it will be done the following day around 4:30 p.m. The installer came to my place the following day and said "I was instructed to take cash only before I installed" I said, I do not have cash and that I am willing to pay them by cheque. The installer called the owner and "the owner did not agree". The installer said the reason why the owner want cash because there is no GST; I said the price that the owner quoted me includes taxes and installation. Anyway, the installer said, I will take cheque from you and I will pay the owner cash, just to get the job done". I can't believe how this company operate. I already paid them 50% of the total price and they will only take cash to install. They do not trust thier customers which to me is unbelievable. The installer had a hard time installing because the owner's measurement was off, they have to make several adjustments and have to cut the stone several times to fit into the kitchen and fireplace. I am getting frustrated not only for lack of trust, professionalism and workmanship. I have contracted several contractors in a short period of time and I found this company the worse, I will never recommend this company to anyone.

I recently hired City Wide Group Inc. to do waterproofing in my basement.They were super fast and professional. They did extra work beyond the scope of our contract with no extra cost to me. Their service was superior and the work was beyond my expectation. Most importantly, this company has a "moral concience"; their employees stay with them for 30 years which tells me City Wide treat thier employees well. I recommended them to my friends.
