This past summer (July 2006), I needed some plumbing work done quickly (installation of previously purchased kitchen counter & sink, and bathroom pedestal sink). Tenants were keen to move into the apartment I had spent the previous 4 months renovating. In desperation, I chose Royal Plumbing from the Yellow Pages, and came to regret that decision. In spite of the fact that I had prepared everything for them (e.g, taken out the old vanity in the bathroom, removed the doors from the kitchen sink unit) so that the actual work only took about 4 hours from start to finish, they ended up charging me just shy of $1,000 for the job an outrageous sum in my opinion, since the "two men" I paid for were one licensed plumber and a boy who was clearly there simply to carry the heavy tools and the price did not include any of the fixtures, which all had been provided by me. I believe that I was charged pretty much double the regular retail price for all the materials used to do the job and all materials partly used were charged in full, with the remains taken away by them (presumably to be used on other jobs). To add insult to injury, I had to call them back twice, as the bathroom sink leaked after installation, and still leaked after the first visit that was made to fix it. If they had not appeared in a timely fashion to fix the leak, this review would have been even more damning. As it is, Royal Plumbing is a company I would never choose again, or recommend to anyone else.
