Im a realtor and new to the Simcoe area. I hired Andy to inspect a house that my parents were looking at purchasing. Even though the house was less than 2 years old, I know from my line of work that an inspection is always worth the cost. Andy came highly recommended. Now I know why. Andy is a rare breed of house inspector. Not only does he love what he does, but hes absolutely thorough and isnt afraid of getting dirty or crawling into tight spaces. For example, the insulation in the attic was measuring approx 18 inches by the opening, but Andy took the time to crawl in all the way to the rear and was able to see that the insulation was actually measuring only 14 to 11 inches throughout. Because this home is still under Tarion warranty, Andys discovery enabled us to put an amendment into the purchase agreement which ensured the builder topped up the insulation to meet code. This alone will save my parents a tonne of money in future heating costs. Most other inspectors I know would have taken the insulation measurements at the opening and called it a day. Not Andy! This is just one example of his dedication and quality of work. If youre reading reviews because youre looking for a home inspector, you can stop your search now because youve just found the best there is!

Scrub Genius did a great job cleaning the white carpets in our condo bedrooms. The response time was very good and they were very courteous. Theres absolutely no way to get 8 year old white carpets to look brand new, no matter what anyone says, but this was definitely a huge improvement! The new condo owners were very happy when they moved in!

My recommendation is to never book this company, especially if youre moving from a building into a house. I booked based on the great reviews here but I was totally duped. The booking itself was seamless and Maria was very responsive but everything changed on moving day. 3 movers arrived approx 25 minutes late. The move was from a 2 bedroom condo to a house in another town. Unbeknownst to them, my husband understands their language so he could hear them say to each other no need to move fast here. They took an extremely long time between loads so I asked building security to check what was going on at the loading dock and I was told that the movers are sitting in the back of the truck on their phones. My husband went to check as well the next time they went down with a load and, once again, they were just sitting in the back of the truck on their phones. He took photos and video but I will not post that here. The move out from the condo wasnt supposed to take this long. We were scheduled to load at our storage location too but when I saw how slow these guys were moving, I decided not to go there. Still, I provided them with lunch on my dime and time because it seems they didnt come prepared. After they loaded everything from the condo, they took 30 minutes longer to arrive at our house than they should have. I asked the office where they were, but I never heard back. When they finally showed up at our house, I told them to unload into the main floor only. The movers seemed relieved they didnt have to go to the second floor. To top things off, their truck leaked hydraulic oil on my new driveway plus they billed me for more time than they actually took. So to sum up, they moved very slow, took plenty of extremely long breaks, took a half hour longer to arrive at the destination than expected, leaked oil on my driveway, and then charged me more time than what was used! There was no follow up from the company to ask how the move went. I think its because they know that they ripped me off and ruined my driveway. Its unfortunate this company didnt live up to the other good reviews here. We have more friends and family moving out of Brampton in the next few months and Ive made sure they know NOT to book with proactive movers. I hope this review will serve as a warning to others.

It was difficult to find renovation contractors that will do what they say or even simply show up for work in a condo so I've ended up doing most of the work myself. When it came to my new kitchen install, I didn't want to take a chance so I searched through Homestars and found Bohdan and Leo. They are the first contractors who showed up and delivered exactly what was discussed. The walls and bulkhead in my galley kitchen are uneven but you can't tell because of their workmanship and problem solving. The kitchen looks amazing! They are well organized, able to customize on the spot, and if there are questions, they will talk with you throughout the process. They really care that everyone is on the same page. As a greater pleasant surprise, they are clean and meticulous with the work area and ikea packaging. This father & son team is truly exceptional and I wholeheartedly recommend them!
