I met Scott, WPI Renovations' owner, a couple of months ago in a leadership seminar hosted by a friend we have in common. I was immediately impressed with Scott's take on his industry when he shared that "... there is a problem in my industry, the construction industry. Most contractors are inefficient, lack transparency and do not have the clients' best interest in mind. I want to change that, I want to run my business ethically and do what's best for the client. To go above and beyond, building and running an ethical construction business is possible, and that's my ultimate goal." Needless to say, I was very impressed by this guy's refreshing take on his industry. I could relate to what he was saying because my industry (medical spa and aesthetics) is not known for its ethics either, and I've been working hard for the past 10 years to build an ethical, science-based, unbiased skin care clinic. Fast forward to April 2016 - we are moving the clinic and it's my Landlord's responsibility to find a contractor to renovate our new 1,700 sq ft space in a medical building. We receive a quote from contractor #1. I have a feeling that the quote is not well thought of, so I start asking questions and request a breakdown of costs ($22,000 for a reception desk requires a breakdown in costs in my opinion, as it is quite high. I'm looking for clarity and transparency). Contractor #1 does not seem to be able to provide requested breakdown, and his answers remain vague and imprecise. Contractor #2 is not even able to read my interior designer's plans. Not good. Who can I trust? I'm going to have to get my own contractor, and we need to get going as we officially open our new location on June 1. Less than a month to go. Yikes. I remembered the impression that Scott had on me at that leadership course, so I decided to reach out to him one evening, and explain my issues, scope of work, deadlines and budget restrictions. He was straightforward and very understanding of my situation and said he would likely be able to help. We forwarded all the information and plans to him, and we had a DETAILED quote 4 days later. Transparent, straightforward, no hidden costs. Scott and his team worked hard to get EVERYTHING accomplished in 3 weeks, under budget, working seamlessly with all parties involved (not only his own trades, but my interior designer, our own suppliers, our Landlord, ...). I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the final results and the space he and his team had created (and improved along the way, their suggestions literally saved us thousands of dollars). This company is the real (rare) thing. Everybody is SO impressed with our space and how high end and professional everything looks. Scott and team, you can count on me being a lifelong customer of yours, and I can't wait to buy a house and reach out to you to make the magic happen once again. I am forever grateful, thank you, thank you, thank you for making my dream clinic happen! Marie Bertrand Founder + CEO SkinScience Clinic Calgary, AB www.skinscience.md

Our team at WPI Renovations had a lot of fun with this one as we work very well under pressure as it brings our team together and challenges such as getting a 10' counter top to the 4th floor when its to big for the elevator, helps improve our expertise and versatility to always get the job done for our fantastic customers. We look forward to working with you in the future and hope you and your customers enjoy your new space for years to come!
