I paid $224.87 for a roof assessment on my 3 year old roof to get a quote for replacing a section of fallen eaves trough. I was at no time offered the option of a quote without paying for a roof assessment. They apologized for the delay in getting the quote to me and the ‘roof repair specialist’ included 4 things in the eavestrough quote: replacing the metal fascia to prevent wood rot, removing all the fallen eaves trough from the property (though I was later informed that ‘the state of my property is not their concern’), installing the new eaves trough, and installing a new down spout. Once I agreed to the work, I received an email offer to save up to $100 off my repair for writing a review, it was my opinion, though it wasn’t written anywhere in the email, that to receive the financial incentive I should write a positive review, so I did. A week later, looking at a further 2-3 weeks to schedule my repair and fallen eaves trough removal, I called another company. They came and assessed the problem no charge, quoted me a price that was less than half the cost and started the repair immediately. In their free assessment they noted 14 feet of rotted wood that was not included in my original $224.87 roof repair specialist assessment. I am not a roof specialist so I can only give my opinion that either there was no wood rot at that time or it was missed by the specialist. When I emailed to cancel my job and express my disappointment over what I felt was a long wait with exposed wood and garbage in my yard I made it clear that I wanted to amend my positive review. What followed was an exchange about what constitutes defamation vs. what I felt I had experienced that took over 6 days, 20 emails, and finally a 13 page document detailing what I could and could not legally say in this review based on the service emails regarding procedures and timelines I received. I fully anticipate a comment on this review along the same lines. This has been a long, and in my opinion, very unpleasant ordeal. I was repeatedly asked to have a phone conversation but once legal stuff was mentioned I wanted written records of our conversations. I was called aggressive, rude, threatening, unreasonable, and unprofessional. I will certainly be looking at reviews differently going forward and personally I would not recommend any dealing with this company.
