We live in a 1960s home in Dalhousie which has been well maintained but was in need of an update. Tim Pressey of Ekko Cabinetry was referred to us by a friend with extensive experience in the cabinet business. Our intention was to simply update and replace cabinetry in our existing kitchen space. On his first visit Tim asked what we would like to see in a wish list and then took measurements of the existing kitchen and dining room. The design he came back with was amazing and incorporated virtually everything on our wish list. A wonderful open space was created by removing a wall between the kitchen and our dining room. Tim suggested we add a large and functional island that we never thought possible  this feature which includes a recycling/composting drawer ended up being the best, most utilized and practical feature in our renovation. We continued our cabinetry into our dining room and created a stunning hutch wall matching the rest of our cabinetry that provided not only extra storage but also a very attractive showcase feature. We carried our cabinetry up to the ceiling for additional storage and finished it off with a gorgeous crown molding which is much easier to keep clean. For easy access and efficient storage, we included a large number of deep drawers which are all dovetailed wood construction with heavy duty full extension, soft close hardware. Everything arrived on time and the installation team was outstanding  the installer (Stan) and installation manager (Rob) worked to complete the job quickly and to our full satisfaction. Fineline Granite (Matthew and Joshua Pressey) followed immediately templating, then installing our new Quartz countertops  again. perfect ! We are now able to entertain and enjoy our family Sunday dinners in a great open space capable of accommodating everybody and enabling the little chefs in the family to interact and help out. We now appreciate the difference between a well designed space and simply replacing cabinetry. Our kitchen and dining area is now the best feature in our home and have received many compliments. We are VERY happy with our new kitchen it has exceptional quality throughout, timely installment and within a budget even with the upgrades.
