Patchy work, sketchy business practices
It began with a ceiling repair quote for less than half of what the job ended up costing. It ended with a 4-foot crack between drywall sheets because no joint tape was used. In between were many hours of remedial work and clean-up done by me because much of the work was poorly executed: no taping of joints, as mentioned, no corner beads on corners, lots of air bubbles in the mudding work that had to be spackled and repainted, lots compound and paint specks on walls, floors, tiles, cabinets, and trim. When I showed the image of the 4-foot crack, the office told me it was due to a structural problem, which problem was mine, not theirs. Will never use patchboyz (and/or girlz) again; will warn loved ones against making the mistake we made.

Dear Kevin Mercier,
We remember your job quite well as these details are unmistakeable. We’ll assume that you’re using a friend, douglas’, account to leave your review.
While we understand you're frustrated, we're surprised you're taking it out on us.We addressed your claim with an email to kevin.mercier@scs.on.ca
Perhaps you didn’t receive our reply? We’re happy to recap here with a little less detail through an enumerated bullet format
1. You had water damage and chose to do the demolition and remediation yourself.
2. You had us come in and repair the ceiling
3. One morning half way through the job, we arrived to see you had torn down all our work.
4. We expressed our shock and concern, and you yelled at our office staff for no reason.
5. We re-did the work for free. (we only billed you 10 hours out of 26:36 hours worked)
6. 8 months later you approached us saying there were cracks and we didn’t use tape
7. We examined your pictures and identified that you failed to install structural floor framing where you removed the old. This of course results in the shower, toilet, sink and occupant above causing bowing in the floor and ceiling below. That’s a lot of weight. The technician on site has been mudding for 10 years. He did not fail to use tape the first nor the second time we did the work for you.
Unfortunately we can not bear the responsibility nor the financial burden of your framing work. Failing to hire a proper mold remediation company and opting to remove structural items on your own is a serious matter. We understand your frustration for sure. Many people are enduring tough financial times and one has to try and save money where they can. Unfortunately, however, this was out of our control.
Yours in service,
The PatchBoyz & PatchGirlz Team
