Ikea holds customers responsible for thier employee mistakes
Customers are held responsible for Ikea employee's mistakes, I know this first hand. We bought over $1,300.00 in furniture in one purchase and their employees had us leave the store missing two boxes. When we found out after assembling furniture we called 800 number, told to go to store as Ikea will not deliver to us. Went to store and was given one box, then found out after further assembly that still another box was missing. We called 800 number again and they advised to go to store again. Went to store and picked up the last box, the Ikea employee provided us only $40.00 credit on a gift card for our trouble only after we demanded compensation for our time and trouble. Big big insult, $40.00 credit does not even cover the cost of one unnecessary trip to the store, let alone two. Seeing we will never shop at Ikea again, their store has saved $40.00 because we don't intend to use the gift card. The employee's we dealt with on both occasions seemed to care less that we had to go through this ordeal, and I have reason to believe that the employee's who neglected to provide us with all the boxes we paid for on the two separate occasions will not be spoken to or trained better. My first experience and last, big Fail.
