I'm normally the type of person willing to let things slide, but the service was so unacceptable at Clean to Please that I feel compelled to leave a review.
They recently had a Dealathons coupon for 3 hours of cleaning for $39. I bought one of these, planning to have them clean the condo that I was selling.
A few weeks after buying the coupon I called for the first time, and there was no answer. I left a message saying I'd like to set up an appointment. They called me back the next day and set one up.
I later realized that I needed to change that appointment, so I called again. No answer. In fact, I've never once had them actually answer the phone when I called. They had a threatening voicemail message about how "rude messages will not be returned". I was wonder who would leave that sort of message, but now I understand. I left a polite message. They didn't call me back.
I started calling once or twice every day, leaving a very friendly message. Their voicemail talked about being overwhelmed by the business from the coupon. I kept leaving polite messages, but never once got called back. My wife tried randomly calling them early in the morning and actually got an answer. They claimed they were planning to call me back that day (righhhttttt). We rescheduled a cleaning appointment for Wednesday at 4:30, willing to settle on any time in order to make it work for them.
Wednesday came and my wife left work early to meet them at the condo. Nobody ever showed up. She tried calling. No answer, she left a message. I tried calling. No answer, left a message.
They still haven't called us back after completely skipping our appointment. They have a message on their answering machine saying "If you've missed an appointment, leave your name and number and we'll get back to you." What does that mean? Does that mean if THEY have missed an appointment? Is this a regular occurrence?
I understand that they underestimated the amount of interest they would get from a coupon. I understand that they can't fit everyone in. But two things crossed the line for me. You have to return people's calls and tell them you are very sorry, you are too busy, feel free to ask for a refund on your coupon. It's absolutely unacceptable that they booked an appointment and then simply didn't show up. That's no way to run a business.
I strongly recommend against using Clean to Please at all. They simply will ignore you.
