We have a double sink with sink strainer baskets that was draining very slowly and had a small leak in one strainer basket. Our own efforts to clear it actually made the problem worse, so we called Mr Rooter. They sent a plumber, Bob, the next day on the morning of Christmas Eve in -11C weather. I appreciate that he wore booties over his work shoes inside the house. After taking a look at the situation he warned us that the strainer baskets were very old and corroded and would break when he removed them to snake the drain. He gave us the quote up front and even gave us a discount for replacing the strainer baskets since he had to take them off anyway to work on the drain. Luckily, he had two new ones in his van! He snaked the drain for over an hour to get it clear. The new strainers appear to be good quality and there are no leaks after he was done. We submitted a request to a number of installation services from Homestars on the evening of 21 December and the first and only reply was from Top Tech early the next morning, offering to do the install the next day. He provided information about labor and parts cost unprompted, and we had the appointment booked by that afternoon. The installer arrived in the time window we had agreed to. He was friendly and professional. He was careful while removing the old dishwasher and installing the new one. He tested that the new one worked and that none of the fittings were leaking. I would not hesitate to hire Top Tech again.
