All costs were billed through the builder so we didn't pay anything additional for any upgrades. Overall a positive experience but it took them a few visits to address the squealing problem with the kitchen tap. They tried to do patch work the first couple of times and were eventually convinced that the tap needed to be replaced. They did not make a fuss about having to replace a sink and one of the toilets as they were chipped. One of their service guys was very good to deal with, most of the onsite plumbing staff was also comfortable to deal with.

$400 was for upgrades to the selections made by our builder for our new home. I was very please with the patient, honest and courteous service of the sales person, Ashley Pritchard, in the showroom. I had to follow-up with her for some additional questions and the information was mailed promptly. it was a comfortable experience. I also felt the pricing was reasonable for the upgrades.

Cost was covered through the builder on our new home a couple of years ago. I had a lot of problems with BJM, from their painters to their service coordinator, field service manager and even one of the owners to some extent when they had to get involved. The finishing throughout the house, particularly on door/window moldings was poor and this concern was also shared by a neighbor who had the same parties involved in his home building. Finally the management from the builder and BJM had to come to the house to see for themselves and BJM put in a good day's work to fix the problems, but after a LOT of hassle - not fun.

Our builder had chosen Gem Cabinets for our house. We paid $625 to add crown molding to kitchen cabinets and upgrade kitchen counter tops to beveled edge, the rest was paid through the builder. Overall, the installation had been near satisfactory but they had to come out a few times for touch-ups and the service requests were handled very well every time. Most of their service techs were quite nice to work with as well. I would recommend them.

Ashley Fine Floors was the vendor of choice for our home builder and we were to deal Brandi Hunter. I am not sure what the builder paid for the basic material but we paid around $1100 to upgrade from the basic. Overall, it was good dealing with Brandi from the sales side. I understand the lino was installed by one of their contractors and this person had done a very poor job. There was no seam sealing done and in some places the lino was cut short so I could see the plywood underneath. It took about a month and much effort to make contact with their service manager/coordinator and get him to setup the repairs (especially for the tile backsplash in the kitchen) but once that was done things went smoothly after that. Their repair techs had to come to the house several times and it was arranged hassle-free every time. The tile job was also not without problems. Some tiles had to be replaced in the master ensuite as they didn't match the rest of them and some tiles in the kitchen backsplash had to be replaced as they appeared to have dents in the porcelain. So overall, both a + and a - experience.

Trail Appliances was the vendor of choice for our home builder and we were to deal with Daniel Osolynski. We were very impressed with Daniel's service; not sure if this is typical of all sales persons there but we found Daniel to be very patient and always helpful. On a few occasions they had to match prices for us as I found the same products cheaper elsewhere and they did not create a fuss. As a business, Trail is very strong on customer service. I like their southside facility as well. It's very inviting. There were some issues with the appliances delivery though where the stove and washer/dryer were dented while delivery. Perhaps they needed to work on their delivery procedures. All this was a couple of years ago. I also had to use their warranty service for the stove and again I was impressed with the service of the store staff as well as the repair person.
