We had issues with our flat roof with water ponding on it and resulting in leaks. We had temporary work done to fix it, and Mr. Roof Repair said that we'd need a permanent solution - to rebuild the roof. On Oct. 24 2017 we sent a deposit of over $2800 and final payment of over $11,400 (total over $14,000) to completely rebuild our flat roof. In February of this year our neighbour was renovating their home adding a third floor, and I was able to get access to our roof and discovered that the flat roof that was just rebuilt because of a ponding water issue has water ponding on it. I sent photos to Mr. Roof Repair showing the issue and told them their work should still be under warranty. In fact, I have photos from googlemaps satellite images that shows the problem was there almost immediately after the roof rebuild. After numerous more emails and phone calls, they kept denying that ponding water is an issue that needs to be addressed (even though it was the reason that required our roof to be rebuilt at a cost of over $14,000, and is listed as one of the roofing issues when looking for a roofer on Homestars) They claimed my photos were not good enough evidence that there was a problem and that I needed to book an assessment that would cost $200 for them to come look at the problem (for an issue that would supposedly be under their "guarantee" of workmanship!) I called their bluff at trying to scare me off with another bill and booked a time for them to come. I also booked another contractor to come the same day to get a second opinion (he did it for FREE). Mr. Roof Repair's team ended up coming at the same time so I had two sets of people looking at the problem. The other contractor was surprised that this problem came up after only a couple years since the rebuild and said the slope was not built properly and the end of the roof was not tied into the fascia properly, which was causing the ponding issue. He stayed with me for almost an hour going over every part of my roof and all the concerns I raised regarding my neighbour's adjoining work. Mr Roof Repair's team was there for about 10 minutes, seemed nervous and made some half-hearted attempt at belittling the ponding issue, then left. Mr. Roof Repair, did NOT send me the promised assessment! They are completely ignoring my issue and just want me to go away. A few months later after considering my options, I contacted them one final time to ask them to address my problem and after two more e-mails and over a week, there is still no response from them. While they used to have a good rating on Homestars, they are NOT the same company they used to be. They did claim a change in management and it seems all they want to do is take your money, and even after doing terrible work on an expensive job, will do everything they can to avoid paying for their mistakes. I will not let them get away with this and will take absolutely every step needed to have this issue fixed.
