A1 Windows

We live in a 30 year old house along the water in Ladner that had wood framed double-paned windows. The team at A-1 Windows took out some of the old windows that had lost their seal and replaced them with beautiful vinyl framed windows. The team, lead by Bobby, was on time, polite and efficient, cleaning up the inside and outside of our house, leaving us with sparkling windows. We would recommend them without hesitation to our friends and neighbours!

Happy to report fast efficient service and our window order arrived faster than expected. I was also pleased to receive suggestions in details I had overlooked. I would indeed recommend thjs company to others, and will be ordering again in the near future, for our ongoing full house replacement project.

I am happy with the quality of our windows but they broke off a piece of the siding, never told me and did a bad job repairing it. The company hires young inexperienced workers to keep their overhead down. The widows are nice but would have appreciated being told of some of the screw ups.

Hired to change my kitchen window. Quality is OK, price is OK. I feel it is very important to hire a professional to do the project, especially the project like change windows. I was tried to do it myself, but very intensive plan and accurate measurements. I could not handle. So I hire A1 Window.

They came and gave us a quote and the following week came and installed all the windows. The clean up after was good. The guys that came to do the work were nice and professional. I would recommend them to friends and family. I thought the price was a bit high. They should check the price from other company to stay competive. All in all it was good. Our house is warmer in the winter and the noise is less.

The price is very competitive and the sales people are very friendly and professional. They showed up on time and did a great installation. The only thing I was unhappy about was instead of using towels to wipe the caulking off their fingers they used the wall trim.

I went to the showroom and had a very helpful sales person walk me through the various options. I ordered the windows in the Fall and thus on installation day it was raining a bit. But they went ahead with the installation. It went relatively well except that they came so late in the day, that is was done partially in the dark and they caused some damage to the siding of the house, under one of the windows. They're pretty aggressive when ripping out the old windows... I think if they were in less of a rush, they may have not damaged the siding.
But there were two problems:
During the next big rain, I noticed a giant pool of water under one of the bedroom windows and realized that the window had not been properly sealed at all. I called them and I have to say that they were very responsive and concerned and sent someone out asap to recaulk the window.
The other issue was that our large living room window had a film of gunky stuff on it that I thought I could wash off but was so stuck on that there was no way I could get it off. I think it was caulking that hadn't had a chance to dry and ran onto the window in the rain following installation. During the fixing of the bedroom window I had them clean off the living room window as best as they could. It was okay but not great.
I lived in that house for about 1 more year after installation and have to say that those windows made a big difference in helping keep our home warmer and less drafty. Having said that, I don't how they'll do in the long run. We may have just had bad luck with the installation but now I've learned that windows shouldn't be installed even in light rain and definitely not in darkness.
