Advanced Air Systems Heating And Air Conditioning

We had our units installed in 2010. Our A/C was not installed properly. The incorrect coils were used. Refrigerant was added at a repair which is dangerous and illegal. The outside venting was not done properly. Ken called his boss on his 2nd visit for an issue he should of fixed and told the guy he was mentoring to fib on the form and say they changed a screw. I heard him fib on the phone to his boss. He had not fixed the issue properly at the first visit and did not want to get in trouble. Shady. I will not recommend this company to any of my many friends purchasing homes nor will I ever have Ken who is shady and doesn't know how to repair or install things in my home again. What a waste of money. Worst house experience we've ever had.

I used Advanced Air Systems services for decades. They installed two furnaces and a central air conditioner for me during that time ... but never, never again will I use them for anything. I think that the company may have changed hands because they have gone so far downhill. I'm disgusted with them.

I called them because the furnace which they supplied and installed in 2007 stopped working. After a cold night, they came the next day with Ken being his usual jovial self. The furnace required a new motor of some type, not a fan motor. They went away away, came back with a motor and installed it. Total cost of approximately $1135 was paid by cheque which Advanced Air very promptly cashed.

Less than two weeks later, the furnace stopped working. I called Advanced Air. The woman who answered the phone asked all the usual questions ... have you checked this, have you checked that, have you tried the other thing, all of which I had already done. Finally she tells me to turn off the thermostat, wait two minutes, turn it back on, and call her right back. I did this. No one picks up the phone. I leave a message on the voice mail. An hour and a half goes by and nothing heard from Advanced Air. I call again, no answer and I leave another message on voice mail.

I continued to call them on-and-off for the next two days leaving one voice mail message after another. None of my calls were returned. All of this time, my furnace is not functioning. As I type this, three days have passed since my initial call, and I have yet to hear back from them.

At noon today, I finally gave up and called a reputable company who came to the house within three hours of my call. They repaired my furnace and departed. Tonight I won't be cold.

I would NOT recommend Advanced Air Systems to my worst enemy ... if I had one. Do yourself a huge service, DO NOT CALL THEM!

Like many of the other reviewers, I was very disappointed by their service. Often the phone isn't answered and it is difficult to line up a service call, as they frequently cancel.
Their monthly fees amount to more than service cost as you can use the surplus to buy a new furnace or A/C. But they split the fee 50/50, so you can use only half of you accumulated surplus for either.
Also, they don't have a rental plan for new furnaces or A/Cs.
I do not recommend them.

Advanced Air used to be a really good company. We bought our A/C and furnace in my old house and new house, my in-laws, my parents and referred to a person at my work. Wow have things changed. I wish I could talk to John the owner myself. However as many reviews below say, the service now is very unprofessional. Not answering, no return calls, we made an appointment with a 3 hour window to go to my mother's house and no one shows or calls. You get told you will be transferred to service and they make you wait and wait, you hang up and call back and no one answers. Not sure if it is John's wife however how can you call that good service? Wow what happened, I guess they are doing so well they do not have to rely on past customers? I would never recommend them again. Their overall scores says a lot.

NOPE NOPE NOPE. They were very good and nice when installed in 2007, then did 3 of their 5 "free" annual inspections, then fell off the map, They stopped coming, then stopped responding or returning calls, or set up appt times then never showed. They've done the same to friends in Stouffville. Just . Stopped. Called the BBB to complain. Lets hope the 10 year warranty if ever needed still works with the manufacturer, that was part of the deal.

The work was prompt and we got the a/c at a discount because we had a new furnace installed previously. The men were courteous and worked quickly. The fellow's name was Ken.

I bought a 90,000 BTU Furnace in 2010 and found out that they actually installed a 70,000 BTU instead.
The only way to find this out is by actually opening the body of the Furnace and look inside at the manufacturer sticker.

We have had no AC for nearly a week - in this extreme heat wave! The receptionist said they tried to call us but our phone # had changed, however, we have lived in our home for over 20 years but they did not mail us any notifications. When asked why they hadn't tried to mail us notification that maintainance check was due, she said that was rude and refused to deal with us. My neighbour needs a new furnace & I was going to recommend Advanced Air before we had these problems but now, I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. If this guy wants to stay in business, he really needs to replace his receptionist, who is the first line of contact for any business! She is destroying his reputation and his business! He needs to hire a person with far more empathy and knowledge of dealing with the public before they become welfare cases!

I would highly recommend advanced air systems, I had no heat in my home and I had a service person out the same day. The lady who answered the phone was excellent, she gave me the price I would have to pay and I paid what she quoted me on the phone.. No surprises!! I had to replace my furnace, and they installed new equipment the next day. I have been a customer with this company from the 80's and I have always been treated great. I have read other complaints about this company, but is the problem with the company or the customers... CUSTOMERS ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT, I am always nice to people and I get the same respect back. To keep any warranty you have to follow the rules and if you dont then you loose it. I will continue to use this company ... I just needed to let everyone know its not always the companys fault ! I always treat the ladies who answer the phone with respect and I get it back.

Installation was sub par, not to code or manufactures spec, stopped answering for service requests as the problems persisted. Had to find a qualified and experienced techinician to rectify the installation defitiencies
