It was our pleasure to work, once again, with Tom. He does an amazing job of staining and refinishing floors and continues to delight us with his service and the quality of his work. We would not hesitate to recommend Tom. He has enabled us to enjoy our very old hardwood floors and to maintain our newer floors. Tom is a great craftsman.

We had our old, original and very battered oak flooring replaced by Tom and he was a pleasure to deal with start to finish. Tom is reliable, professional and a genuinely nice guy. He honoured his commitments to us, starting as scheduled and working quickly and with the minimum amount of mess and disruption possible right through to the finish. The standard of workmanship was superb and his pricing was quite reasonable. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We are happy to recommend him.

I was getting my home ready for new renters but our floors were looking old and dirty so we contacted Tom at Alf's Flooring. They sanded and refinished the floors in our home and they look fantastic! They worked fast and were super friendly and I highly recommend them.

I called Alf's Flooring to remove carpet and refinish hardwood floors in two bedrooms. Cathy arranged for Tom to come for an estimation the same day. Tom sounded very professional and informative. Tom phoned me the same evening, we negotiated the price, and he and his son worked the following week. Tom changed a few rotten pieces of oak and refinished the floor. The floor looked very good. Part of the job was re-installing the quarter rounds in one bedroom, and Tom also quoted me on getting and installing quarter rounds in the other bedroom. I told Tom that before that I wanted to do some painting job in the bedrooms including cleaning the baseboards off of pieces of carpet and re-painting them. Tom suggested to do the painting job in a month. In a month, after I finished painting, I called back to Alf's. I talked to Cathy, and she promised that Tom would call back that same day. I also left voice messages. No one called me back. It was very disappointing. I finished the job myself. When I was re-installing pre-cut quarter rounds in one bedroom, I saw that there was a gap between the wall and the wood floor, that is not covered by the quarter rounds. In the middle of another bedroom, I can see two small holes. It's very disappointing. The floor in general looks good for the exception of a few spots, and not finishing the job.

He installed / sanded and stained our new oak hardwood floors in our kitchen/dining room during our renovation. After a brief conversation & some photos that we showed to him .... he delivered exactly the species of wood & colour of stain that we had requested.
He is extremely knowledgeable and explained the entire process in great detail. His recommendations were very helpful & we could not be happier with the results.
He pricing is very reasonable & the quality of the hardwood superior to other showrooms that we visited.

WE REMOVED THE WALL TO WALL CARPET. ALF'S SANDED AND BROUGHT THE OAK FLOORS UP TO PAR. OWNER AND SON WORKED FOR 3 DAYS ENTRUSTED WITH A KEY. EXCELLENT RESULT AND SERVICE.

We have an older house with oak floors and they needed refinishing. Tom came in and completed the work within 2 days as he promised. The final result was great and it brought the floor back to mint condition. There was a minor issue which disappointed me. I asked Tom to quote on the whole job including three new transitions that I needed. Tom completed most of the job but did not finish cutting or finishing the transitions (he left that job to me) even though it was clearly part of the original quote. Overall it was a relatively minor issue, but I do feel Tom could have gone the extra step to finish the job completely.

I called several hardwood flooring contractors for a quote. Tom was prompt and professional when he called me back. He gave me a competitive price based on the square footage. He came when he said he would and called if he was running late. A contractor that actually follows through and communicates is refreshing! He was knowledgeable and explained the process along the way. We have beautiful hardwood floors thanks to Tom! Highly recommend!

Shortly after purchasing our 50+ year old home, we removed old carpeting to discover hardwood flooring. We contacted a few hardwood floor specialists. We decided to go forward with Alf's Flooring as we felt he was upfront and honest from the beginning. He explained the process, and his recommendations and why.
