House windows replaced on second floor. Also new window cutouts in basement.

Canadian Choice Windows installed windows for us in 2007-08.Up until recently, we have been satisfied with the job they did, especially with an employee named Pol. We had five windows , single, double and triple installed on the second floor of our home, one cut out and insert on our front steel door and also two cutouts and insert of two windows in our basement. All of the windows are casement. Our problem now is that one of the panes in the bathroom window has leaked and is all marred in between the two panes of glass. It looks terrible. I remember when a worker, not Pol, installed this window, I had to remind him to put in the insulation before installing the frame. He was not going to do this until I mentioned it to him. I was watching him the whole time. Now I realize that there is a space underneath this window where the frame and the bathroom tiles should meet. It was never filled in with any kind of caulking and is an eye sore now. I must admit that I didn't even notice this before because we had curtains and drapes hanging over this window. The window is over the soaker bathtub. I feel that the window has been installed in a crooked way, it doesn't look level to me. Anyway, my beef here is that to have this window replaced, we had to pay $90.00 to HomeTech Windows. Our salesman at the time of purchase was Alex Shou? I am not sure of the spelling of his last name. He is a very nice man and we enjoyed dealing with him. When this happened to the window in the bathroom, I called him and asked him how this can happen, he told me that when they installed our windows, they had bad experiences with the manufacturer of the windows. I may be wrong here, but I understood that these windows were warranted for life. I don't feel that we should have to pay for the replacement of this window. Also because of what Alex told me about the manufacturer. Their manufacturer at the time of our installation was no good and since then, they have changed manufacturers. They now deal with HomeTech Windows. I would very much like to hear from someone about this problem. I did write to Canadian Choice Windows but have not heard anything back from them. I would not recommend Canadian Choice to anyone because of this experience. I value your opinion on this matter.

Since writing this review yesterday, I received phone calls today from one of the owners of this company. He was quite upset with me that I hadn't talked to him about the windows. Obviously, I didn't speak with the right person as now things have changed. I had misunderstood a number of things regarding this issue., but we have now received a credit for the labour costs of re-installing the damaged window. Also, I was under the wrong impression of how and why this damage was done to the window. I have changed my rating of Canadian Choice Windows to 10 because i feel very happy to know that they do care very much about keeping their customers happy and content with their products and services. I am more than satisfied with what transpired today over the telephone. I was asked to send pictures of the window in question, which I have done. I feel terrible now that I wrote such negative comments about C.C.W., but I felt unsatisfied and that I was kind of misled the first time around. After speaking with Oleg twice today, I feel that my complaint has been heard and something is being done about it. I would highly recommend this company and their installers to everyone. The
windows do look really nice still after all these years and it is totally satisfying to know that C.C.W. cared enough about my feelings to
call me personally today. They want to keep me satisfied and content and they have done that very well. Loretta Harnarine
