whirlpool washer repair

Further to my review of 9 May. After researching the prices for new front loaders I decided to get the old washing machine repaired. Commonwealth was half hour late for our appointment on 15 May. Actual cost was 210 over estimate as oddly a part that Victor thought would not be necessary turned out to be necessary. The guy who did the work wasn't bad but his credit card machine didn't work. Told me his office would send me a receipt. It is now 27 May and I've heard nothing. Very negative customer experience with these guys. Be careful!!

washing machine repair

Victor of Commonwealth Appliances was 35 minutes late for an appointment on Tuesday May 6. He didn't call to say he was delayed, he offered no explanation or apology. He charged me $80 for the service call and offered no receipt. I called Victor on the afternoon of Wednesday May 7 to authorize some work to done. I called Victor again during the morning of Friday May 9 as he hadn't returned my call from two days prior. I write this review after the close of business Friday May 9 with no return call, no nothing!!

Microwave repair (diagnostic) - Terrible Customer Service

My microwave stopped heating. I called Commonwealth Appliance Service Ltd and asked about their services. They said they would send a diagnostic technician out to determine what was wrong with our microwave, and that the cost would be $70 for the diagnostic, but that this fee would be applied towards the repair if we decided to go ahead with it.

The technician, Rohar, determined it was the magnetron that needed replaced, and that it would probably be expensive. He said he would call with an estimate. We paid him $70 plus tax.

The next day Rohar called and quoted a price for repair that was equal to the original value of the microwave. I asked if this price included the $70 diagnostic fee discount. He said they don't do that, the diagnostic fee was for the diagnostic. I said the reason I agreed to the diagnostic was because I was told that $70 would go towards repairs. He disagreed with me. He asked his supervisor, and the supervisor allowed him to apply a 15 minute labour discount. I said that that was not sufficient, told them to re-train their telephone personel (which he said was impossible...?), and hung up.

The BBB refuses to get involved, because they said the cost of the diagnostic was $70, and that's what they charged. But they were dishonest about their practices, and refused to budge when I called them on it.

For shame Commonwealth Appliance Services! Terrible customer "service".
