I had a Cozy Comfort technician come to repair my compressor and considering it is the hottest day of the year I was glad I could find someone to come on such short notice.
My wife was home at the time and the tech identified the issue (needed a new capacitor) but before my wife had the chance to call me to discuss, the tech had already replaced the capacitor and added refrigerant.
Now I am not an air conditioner technician but I do understand how these things work (I have an engineering degree) and my wife made it clear that we wanted to discuss the repairs before anything was done. However we were not given this opportunity and the tech said "I do not work that way". I never agree to a repair without knowing the cost and fortunately for everyone is was only $400 and not enough to make an issue out of.
While I am happy my air conditioner is working again, I am not happy with Cozy Comfort and their repair technician.
I would highly recommend using another company unless you are desperate like we were.

I would just like to add a point or two, to clear any doubts.
First of all there is a service charge for every service call
of $125.00 + HST, which is also called diagnostics charges, which
is charged by every company with some variantion in price.
Therefore, price of $398.89 which was the correct amount of invoice
included:
1-Service call.
2-Capacitor.
3-leak test.
4-Refrigerant.
4-Labour.
5-HST.There has been no hidden costs nor extra, we have never experiencd a customer who did not want service tech to do the job and just tell them
what is wrong, simply because no body wants to pay two service calls!!
