Repeat customer and very disappointed by customer servicce
I had the roof of my two storey house replaced by Don Mills Roofing in 2015 ($7000). I was not 100% satisfied with the work (caulking from the old flashing that was higher than the new one was not removed) but satisfied enough that I referred the company to my new neighbors after I moved / downsized to a (freehold) townhouse. There are 6 units in my complex. We all want new roofs. The owner was not returning our calls. When I contacted him, he remembered me and said he would come one day the following week to give us a quote without saying when exactly (very different service vs. the year before). I followed up with him twice by text a week later, to get an idea when he would come: no response. I called him back to find out what's going on and all I got was excuses for why he did not come or responded to my texts. "I am too busy, you guys are shopping around, I only go by referrals". Well, who does not get 2 or 3 quotes for a roof?? It's not like buying a pair of jeans. I did that last year (2015) and he did not seem to have any problem with that. Perhaps because he got the job? I confronted him and he finally admitted he was not interested, that he was only doing "bungalows". I told him he could have told me right away instead of making us waste our time. I would have understood. He never apologized and guess what, I will never recommend him again. It is sad because he came recommended by someone I trust. Good customer service and honesty are very important to me. He failed on many fronts by not coming back to remove the old caulking on my prior house, by not telling me right away he was not interested in the new work we had for him in 2016, and by disputing this review and saying he had never done business with me.
