2nd Floor Bay Window w/ Installation
We were looking to replace our 2nd floor bay window in our turn of the century home. Because of the size and location on the 2nd floor, we decided to go with a wood window from Home Depot to ensure we would have the support of a large company in case there were any problems post installation. After I had removed the interior trim, they sent someone out to measure the opening, and then ordered the custom window. On installation day, the contractors were having difficulty installing the window. Turns out the opening was narrower at the top (standard for old brick houses), and the window wasn't fitting. The contractors proceeded to force the window in place, so much so that the center pane was severely deformed from the pressure. The next day, I called the project person at Home Depot; she personally came out and was shocked at what she saw. She immediately remeasured, ordered a new window, and had it replaced within 3 weeks. (They had to totally destroy the old one to get it out). Thank you Home Depot for making a bad job right!
