Kitchen Renovation

One of the worse decisions I have ever made was to approach Home Depot to have my kitchen renovated (cabinet resurfaced, backsplash and counter top). Home Depot does not follow up on the workmanship, their contractors don't return your calls and leave you hanging, had to go back to Home Depot to complain before they would call you back, ignored and were dishonest about the facts regarding workmanship and time tables. It took more than 4 months to get everything done, I had my whole house renovated - knock down and redid 4 bathrooms - took less than 3 weeks to complete, replaced all my windows (more than 20 pcs) and front door - took less than 3 days to get the work done, had the whole house repainted - took less than a week for work to be done, including removal of wall paper. Went into the store and the installation manager couldn't even find my contract in their system. Told them not to deposit the cheque until work is completed, totally ignored the request. Never again.

installing drapes

We had drapes/blinds installed in three rooms.
In one of the room the blinds were installed crooked and get caught on the side. I have made several calls to home depot with no response from them. They initially told us that the work was warranted for 5 years

Kitchen Renovation

Our kitchen was at its last days, and we desperately needed to update it. We decided on going with Home Depot because of its convenience and price, we figured they would probably be the most trustworthy.

Come time to install Home Depot subbed out 2 guys to do the whole renovation. While they worked fast and were tidy there were so many problem upon completion that I instantly regretted the purchase.

Cabinets were clearly not hanged properly and you could see the face of the cabinets because the doors did not fully fit. They did not properly attach the sink to the underside of the granite and it eventually collapsed. Trying to get any help from home depot proved to be useless as they kept giving the run around.

I learned my lesson, and will never ever trust home depot with anything labour related. I will still purchase goods from them, but will not recommend nor use them my self for any future renovations.

bathroom renovatio

The staff was not very helpful, in my attempts to find vanities and mirrors and medicine cabinets, bathtub, along with bathroom accessories, such as towel bars -- they really didn't help direct me alot. Part of the problem is that Home Depot's inventory of these items is fairly limited, and they carry only a few select brand names.

curtain

Usually when I come to Home Depot I can not find anybody to answer any question. Now they had opened a new store in Richmond Hill at Elgin Mills and Leslie. I came there to buy a rods and all little things to hung curtains on. I have never have done it before and I did not know what is what for. To my real surprise there was a lady (unfortunately I don't remember her mane) who knows every answer. She explained me which hook is better for heavy curtain, which one is for light one. She had show me rods and everything for that. Fist time I were happy with my trip to Home Depot.
