Ikea - North York

We started off by tearing down our entire bathroom except the bathtub. we then went off to get someone to get it done up. After many calls and research we landed up at Ikea. It turned out too be a pretty good experience all in all.

I ordered a complete akrum kitchen cabinet set from IKEA North York. The shipment consisted of many many heavy boxes. It would have been next to impossible to check all of the items until the instillation process began. Midway through the installation, I noticed that ALL of the cover panels and plinths that were delivered were the wrong colour, notwithstanding that the correct colour was ordered. Luckily the Etobicoke store had theses items in stock. After realizing the futility of dealing with the telephone customer service department, I had to drive out to the Etobicoke store on my own time to arrange delivery of these items. Not only was I charged the $59 delivery fee again, I now have to somehow fit all of the erroneous items in my vehicle and transport them back to the store. I have been promised a return call from Ikea within 48 hours. It has now been more than 72 hours and I am not holding my breath. I am very fortunate that the Etobicoke store had the items in stock, as this was a special order kitchen. My wife and baby daughter have been staying are staying with relatives during my kitchen renovation. If the Etobicoke store did not have the items I would have had to wait another 2-3 weeks for a new shipment, all because a careless warehouse worker retrieved the wrong parts. IKEA should hire more competent warehouse and customer support workers!

Had a great selection of bookcases, the particular style chosen had frosted glass doors that makes it versatile from most bookcases. Can be used for any type of storage in any room!

Initially, I had thought that IKEA kitchens would be cheap looking, somewhat like some of their furniture. However, I must say that I find their kitchens rather nice. When compared to kitchen products from Home Depot, Rona, or Lowes, IKEA seems to have more interesting styles, and the quality seems for the most part on par with the kitchens from the big box stores. And for our kitchen, IKEA came in at about $1000 less that that of Home Depot, Rona, or Lowes. However, I find that their countertops are very expensive - recommend going elsewhere to get your countertop.

Everyone knows that Ikea carries wonderful products, but not everyone knows that that they will deliver and install. We had a bedroom cabinet unit installed and were very happy with the entire experience.

There kitchen are great, when we had problems, they helped, provided missing parts and when a return was needed (marked kitchen door) they took it back. I would recomend ikea kitchens to everyone.

The metal-framed bunk-bed with foam mattress was a hit with the kids. Not only was the price right, the assembly was not too difficult and very straight forward. The dresser is also the perfect size for two siblings to keep all their clothes side by side.

My wife and I are were looking for a new matress and bedroom furniture for our new house. We looked in a number of furniture stores and couldn't really find anything that suited us. We visited the North York IKEA and found exactly what we were looking for at a great price. We purchased a King matress and dark brown MALM bedroom set, 2 6 drawer dressers and a great platform bed frame. Service was quick, we took the bedroom set home and had IKEA deliver the matress. They delivered the matress a day later. Very good experience we would recommend IKEA to anyone.

I renovated the entire condo with flooring and kitchen cabinets all bought from IKEA. The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. Anything bought in excess Ikea was happy to refund the money.

We were dreading buying a rug for months because we thought we were not going to find the right color or size, or that it would be expensive, but ikeas rug are perfect, and they actually have ones that are not too crazy with the designs that they fit our living room perfectly.
