I was given a reference from an acquaintance for the company Insul-twin. He was very happy with the job but I assume he a had a completely different crew with a different level of experience.
June 13 2018 ---- the job started. I have had siding and windows all replaced on my house as well as fascia Gable boards replaced.
March 1 2019 ------8 ½ months later ......they have done the best they can and I would not recommend them for any work in the future.
The crew (2 fellows) worked hard but frequently left at the end of the day with materials left all over the place. In one instance, in front of the house, over a long weekend. Tyvek from the debris pile blew all around the neighbour hood, that I had to collect. There are still nails being found all around the house and glass in the grass from the window they broke. They we very inconsiderate in that that after they left each day, people still lived there and had to look at the mess and try to safely get around it. The window installation was fine.
The siding had numerous deficiencies. Nails under the siding (not removed) leaving marks. Reattachment of the railing to the house not secure or level, (safety hazard). Crew lost hardware and replaced with ineffective, unsafe hardware. The venting used to replace the old vents was non-functional as they covered over it with Tyec. Much of this I corrected and some they did as it required replacement of the Vinyl to cover the issues.Gable facia board replacement. The Crew was not capable of doing this work proficiently. When they felt it was complete and left it should have been an embarrassment to them. The gable Fascias they tried to install did not reach the roofing material leaving the whole area wide open for water and insect access to the complete attic. They had crushed and buckled the roofing shingles all over on all of the gables to the point where the roof is permanently damaged, the shingles do not sit flat. Where they had tied their ladders to the roof, they covered the holes (some not completely) with silicone, as opposed to correct roofing sealant. A letter of complain and Photos were sent to the company.
Met with Duane and Bryce to formulate a repair plan. Three different repairs were tried to cover and hide the fascia gable boards and close the gap between roofing material and gables. This took 8 1/2 months to complete and it’s a coverup patch type of job that hides and covers the issues.
I am not happy with the job, they feel it is complete and will not respond to e Mails.
