Kampen Appliance Service

Kampen is the only Factory authorized Sub Zero factory repair service and as a result have a monopoly and as such are expensive.

A competent technician was dispatched at a cost just shy oy $275 to diagnose the issue with our Sub Zero under counter wine cooler. The good news was that the parts were still within the 12 year warranty period + extra for the labour.

I received a quote of $1356.00 flat rate for the labour to repair including refigerant. After researching a replacement unit at a cost of around $6k, I reluctantly decided to proceed with the repair.

Kampen charge $35/15 minutes for labour. The extremeley competant technician replaced the coils and refrigerant in 2 hours, that included a new gasket on my Sub Zero refrigerator. The fixed quote for labour was $875. This equates to 6.25 hours. Assuming travel time of 1 hour each way, the job if quoted on an hourly basis would have been $560 (with travel at $140/hour as well).

When challenged they indicated that they charge a fixed rate as some repairs are more complicated than others. While their service was excellent, they are extremely expensive and hence my rating, given that I did not have a choice in selecting anoter Factory Authorized Repair facaility and given that their technician diagnosed the issue at an additional charge and knew the exact problem and I am sure had done a similar repairs previously.

Sub-zero fridge freezer stopped working. Called Kampen Appliance as they are authorized dealer. Technician came with close to $300 service fee, almost 3 times higher than regular appliance repair consultant.
He told me sub-zero is the topline fridge and compressor last 30 years when my fridge is only 17 years old. When questioned about this, Technician(Winston) said the compressor broke down after 2 minute work. The quote came back $2800+.
I hired another consultant to do the diagnosis. He stayed long enough to test on the both side and advised me he didn't get the current flow into the freezer so we replaced the board and my fridge started to work right away. Technician also advised me since Kampen technician put a small device on the system which may have pierced through the sealed system, fluoride could leak potentially. I don't understand why i have to pay for the damage Kampen people may have caused recklessly.
My entire cost of repair ($100 diagnose fee + $780)
Please stay away from Kampen. This is what I can say. Sorry for the rest people who work there with professionalism and good heart.

These guys are the real deal. They are a honest and professional appliance repair company. I would 100% recommend them.

Our subzero freezer stopped working on our 3 year old fridge. We were referred to Kampen appliances for the repair. They were knowledgeable on our warranty, provided a quote and were prompt with scheduling an appointment. The two technicians that came were wonderful. Polite and courteous. We have a family member who is in palliative care living with us. Both techs understood and respected our space. We barely knew they were there. We are having such a stressful and emotional time with our loved one. I so appreciate the accommodations and service that Kampen delivered.

This is the second service call from Kampen Appliance, and I was equally impressed as I was with the first. The service person, Raul, arrived promptly on schedule, and examined our French door refrigerator to determine what the problem was. He provided additional information about maintenance and the fridge warrantee, which was really appreciated. I would highly recommend Kampen Appliance Service.

I was pleasantly surprised in our call to Kampen to hear the steps offered by Sara at to see if we could fix an issue with our Sub-Zero refrigerator ourselves before booking a service call.
That does not happen very often.
Sara explained the technical issues very clearly, so we followed the steps to see if we could fix the issue ourselves.
In the end, we needed to book a tech appointment.
During the service call we were impressed with the very professional attitude. No upselling, actually the opposite.

Kampen Appliances Service is a professional company from the friendly receptionist Karen to Edward the technician. He was able to quickly identify the problem, had the part available and install it in 15 minutes. Edward called to inform me when he would arrive. This was much appreciated. Their service fee included diagnosing the issue. Kampen is a company that I highly recommend.

We are extremely pleased with the service we received. It was easy to schedule an appointment and we were given a 2 hour window during which our technician would arrive. On the day of our visit, Malik called us to give us 15 minutes notice - well within the time booked. He arrived ready to work and had mats to protect our flooring. Malik quickly identified the problem, explained our options and efficiently completed the job. We highly recommend Malik and Kampen and will definitely call again.

A few simple tasks were completed, but charging 360 dollars for 20 mins of work is way too expensive for the amount of work and effort. Very disappointing.
