I'm a repeat customer. Harry Mercer did our flat roof approx. 30 year ago. About 2 year ago the desk on top of it was rotten and we figured it was time to replace the roof too. We also needed to install a new deck door, some siding and some new eavestroughing. We ended up using the same contractor now run by Harry's son Darren to do it all. His price was not the lowest, but was reasonable and he knows quality, was fast and neat.
The only negative was he tried to convince our neighbour (we live in a semi) to replace his contiguous flat roof at the same time even though it was much newer and didn't really need replacing.

I had called Harry Mercer on the recommendation of a friend. Right from the first phone call - they were professional, prompt and provided all information (detailled estimate) quickly. The day of the job - they arrived on time (7:30 AM)- with enough help to complete the job in less time than they estimated (finished by 3 pm).

They put plywood over the patio doors and tarps on the deck to catch all debris. When they were done - you could not tell they had been there. There was not a scrap of shingle, or a nail to be found.

I paid by credit card - and in less than a week from the time the job was complete - I had a detailed receipt mailed to me.

I would not hestitate to recommend them.

We have lived in our 1900s-era home for 16 years now, and whenever we need roofing done, we call Harry Mercer. Harry Mercer Contractors is family-run, but with a large enough crew to do a job quickly and reliably.

Sixteen years ago they replaced our flat roof (which is still in good shape now), and this month we had them replace a slanted shingle roof (our house has several roof surfaces -- some flat, some slanted).

They also did the estimate quickly, and emailed it to us. The estimate listed the various steps involved, the materials, the cost, and their warranty period. I would definitely hire them again, although now that all our roof surfaces are in good shape, it may be quite some time before we'll need them again.
