Poor service - check list company - bad business model
Merry Maids of Oakville is a checklist company. What is a checklist company? Simply put their manager gives them a check list and if it isnt on the check list it isnt getting cleaned. No mater what!
I have never seen such a lack in care or pride in any form of work, ever! They would leave stuff on the floor (toys) and clean around them or not clean the floors at all because they cannot be bothered to bend over and pick them up. (For those from Merry Maids reading this we call that "tidying up". )
On one visit they had 2 girls here for nearly 3 hours and they got 2 bathrooms cleaned. Thats it! How in Gods name is that even possible?
When I asked why the counters were not wiped down or the coffee table dusted etc the answer was "It wasnt requested so its not on their list"...
Here is what WAS requested Merry Maids of Oakville.... CLEAN MY HOME.... I don't think I need a check list to tell your staff that if there are toys on the floor pick them up so you can sweep.
The end result was we terminated them and feel we would get better home cleaning service from an auto mechanic.
Terrible company, terrible business model. Poorly run and staff that just don't take any pride in their work...

Dear John,
I agree with you in the fact that there was confusion when it came to the first clean, which should have been cleared up before we came into your home.
What you were asking us to do absolutely did require a check list. Unlike 99% of the customers we service you wanted us to supplement what your Nanny was not doing.
It is unusual for us to go into a home and clean a kitchen sink, window over the sink, the fronts of the appliances and the fronts of the cupboards but not clean the stove top, countertop and floors, which was to be left for the nanny to do.
Based on your discussions with our Sales Manager and your emailed instructions this was the process we were to follow throughout your home. Other than the bathrooms we were only required to complete specific tasks in your home.
We were instructed not to dust or clean any floor surfaces, but required to vacuum area rugs. You didn’t just ask us to “Clean your home” you were very specific in what you wanted done.
As a business owner yourself, you are well aware that the communication between customer and business can sometimes become distorted. Cherri made every attempt to take responsibility for the miscommunication and rectify the things that were missed, including coming back into your home and re cleaning what was missed on the first clean.
As we both know Home Stars is an excellent platform for Customers to display their thoughts on services they have used. However, you and I are both aware not all comments on this platform are always accurate or correct.
I am sorry we were not able to meet your needs and appreciate your candour.Merry Maids Oakville
