I have bought a brand new condo in Whitby about 1.5 years ago. It was only through a lot of patience on my end that I would get some response. I had to get their bathtub manufacturer in twice to fix a scratched oversized tub, which I had paid extra as an upgrade and the last repair still is not satisfactory. They clearly left off the polishing coat. The final straw was when my ceramic floor tiles in my kitchen and foyer started cracking during the first year and I noted it in my 1 year Tarion Warrenty inspection. Solmar refused to come in and fix the problem (total of 15 tiles)stating that it was not warrentable. I paid the $50 to Tarion to get their opinion and they agreed with me that it was, due to poor materials (reasonably they should be expected to last past the first year-at least). Solmar still refuses to do anyting about it and now I am forced to get a contractor to come in and do the job for something that Solmar should have taken care of. I am not impressed and will not buy from Solmar again. They also had us pay the property taxes while we were paying occupancy fees (the rent for living in the place until they get their paperwork in order with the city). Who heard of tenants paying property taxes!!! Not trustworthy at all and I beleive there is a class action suit being filed for this matter.
