washing machine repair

Initially Richard was very quick to come and assess the problem and then make part one of the repair, for which I paid $350. As soon as he left my house I tried to do my laundry and the machine failed: I called Richard immediately, within 10 minutes of his departure, and he did not answer so I left a message. After getting no response and making multiple calls to the 'business' line, I finally reached him by locating his mobile number in my phone's history. He said without pause that he would have to order a second part. 2 weeks later now and Richard is not answering my calls or returning my messages asking for information or a timeline and I still don't have a working machine. Having already paid a large sum, I am loathe to go out and buy a new machine but the fact is that with a second repair, we will probably be coming close to half the cost of a brand new machine. I am extremely annoyed, feel ripped off, and would not recommend this guy to anyone.

Broken Washing Machine

My washing machine broke on Monday evening. The switch that is depressed when the lid is closed snapped. Seeing as I'm not very handy, I looked to Homestars to recommend a repair person and Richard from Downtown Toronto Appliance repair did not disappoint. When I spoke to Richard, he advised that he had the required part immediately and would be at my condo within an hour!

Richard arrived on time as promised and with lightning speed pulled the top of the washing machine and replaced the part. Richard was polite and worked faster than anyone I've ever seen. It was quite evident that he was highly skilled in the area of appliance repair. Within less than 20 minutes he had the washing machine fixed, the invoice made up and paid and he was on his way. Total time between my initial call and repair being completed: less than 2 hours! Wow!

I would highly recommend Richard to anyone who is looking for appliance repair in Downtown Toronto.

Fix gas oven

The ignitor on my gas oven needed replacing. I called Downtown on a Saturday morning and Richard was there in the afternoon. He did the job at light speed, and was even courteous enough to take his shoes off in the house. Price was reasonable. He was a little curt on the phone, but otherwise I was very satisfied and would definitely call this company again.

Repair Fridge

To my surprise when I woke up on Friday morning I found my fridge stopped working and all of my groceries from the day before was on the verge of spoiling. I called Whirlpool Canada and to my shock the earliest they could send out someone was late next week at a cost of $80 and then $19 every 15 minutes. So I called several other Appliance stores and no one was available to come out until next week and all were charging high amounts. I was lucky to find Downtown Toronto Appliance on Home Stars. Richard called me back and could hear the sense of urgency in my voice and came to my Condo within two hours. As soon as Richard opened up the back of the fridge he knew exactly what it was and went down to his truck and had the part. He fixed the fridge in less then 15 minutes and he only charged $60 for labour plus the part. I will definitely use Downtown Toronto Appliance again and highly recommend their services.

We had the belt snap on our dryer and I called Downtown Appliance in the late afternoon and they came by first thing the next morning and replaced it in no time at all. Charged $90 and the dryer works like new now. Excellent service and more than fair.

Thanks again,

Frank

Fridge repair

My Sears brand fridge and freezer broke down - I called Sears thinking my 10 years parts warranty was still in effect (which it was) and that it would be more cost effective to use Sears should the fridge require parts - a day and a half later, despite their assurance of immediate service the next day, Sears was still a no-show and seemingly only able to explain in corporate double speak when or if they would ever come for my "emergency" service call. In desperation as my entire freezer and fridge full of food rotted, I searched on Home Stars and located Richard, who came to my rescue. He came when he said he would, had the parts on hand based on my description of certain fridge noises, and fixed my fridge in under 10 minutes. He is a gem and I would not hesitate to use him again for any service he provides. P.S. I wouldn't use Sears repair service if I were you - on the third day after calling, I was finally called by a dispatcher who said they "might" be able to come that day.

$101.65
