AVS Windows & Doors

Calling them for final adjustment of windows and installing the screens for last more than a month but no one came. Everytime, their answer was "we'll come next week", but they never come. I'm really fed-up now and writing this review. Next step is calling BBB.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH AVS Windows.

No costume service . They had delay for delivery.
The measurement wasnt correct. Didnt respond to Phone calls.Dont waste your time and money for irresponsible company.

I ordered two sets of French doors for my bosses' house and had a terrible experience from start to finish. I prepaid for the doors in advanced and had no communication after that. When the doors arrived the measurements were off.
* Communication - I called 5 days a week for 3 weeks and no one would call me back.
* Measurements - doors came in and were off in measurements.
* Installers - took doors away to cut new doors too but measurements were still off.
* Previous doors - I requested to have old doors returned to owner, they haven't been delivered.
From my experience I would not use AVS again. I feel that if you have a small job or renovation AVS is not interested in your business.

I bought windows from AVS in 2000 when I upgraded from single pane. There has been no problems with the sealed units. Now I am doing an addition on my home that will require 10 more windows. I need 1 right away. Placed order and it was done in 3 days. Price on rest of project nicely competitive. The salesman was extremely helpful even helping me with a minor esthetic issue on my windows from 17 years ago.

Stay away from this company save your money and buy somewhere else. The worst experience ever. Bad quality and customer service. Their warranty doesn't mean anything. We have brand new double glazed windows (there are 4 of them in my house) purchased from AVS The metal bars inside the windows have shifted towards the bottom and as a result look completely crooked and out of shape.

We were building a new home in Burnaby and this was one of the 4 companies I requested quotes from. I should have known their quality when I first received their quotation. Comparing to the others their quotation looked like something done by a elementary school kid - very unorganized, bad typos all over, no identification of which window is for which room, etc. However I chose them because their quote was 5% lower than the next competition and we were on a tight budget. I spent many hours sorting out the list with them. Bad mistake!

The person who came to measure the rough openings was the owner's son. He was 45 minutes late while I waited freezing on site. He didn't even apologize. He looked like just out of high school with very little experience. 3 of the windows were in a wall that were kind of different so the way how the windows would fit was special. I spent almost an hour explaining this to him and the architect later sent numerous detail drawings. He claimed he understood but when the windows came they were wrong - in fact they were exactly like the other regular windows with no adjustment at all. So my framer ended up re-framing to suit their windows. Moreover I found so many mistakes on the updated window list I had to go to Surrey a few times to correct.

Furthermore:
1) 4 windows were smaller than quoted but they never adjusted the cost.
2) They made a mistake on the size of the skylight and by that time the framer was so mad he refused to re-frame the opening so I told them to cancel it. They did not deduct it from the final bill.
3) Before the windows were manufactured I had to make a change on one window and notified them by email which I got an acknowledgement. It was NOT changed when it arrived so it was sent back for correction and delayed the progress of the construction.

When the final bill came the balance was much higher than the quotation without any explanation. I had to go to Surrey a few more times when they finally took the unknown charges off. By that time I was totally exhausted so I actually ended up paying for their mistakes.

All in all this company provides bad products & service, charged extra without explanation, and wasted a lot of my time. I ended up paying much more than the 5% I thought I'd save. I will never use them again.

Hi I recently got windows from avs windows and door and was very pleased. They delivered on time and there price was perfect! There customer support is amazing and have a 20 year warrenty!
