Last Saturday we were about to repair the eavestrough on our garage and found a terrible surprise lurking in the wooden beam behind the vinyl - carpenter ants! And millions of them (or so it seemed!) They had colonized in the beam that we had let rot away from the leaky eaves (this is what we were trying to repair!) But the ants beat us to it. There were what seemed like millions of dusgusting ants with brown/reddish backs, it looked like a moving carpet. We didn't know what to do and had never seen carpenter ants before. So I called a few places in the phone book, and Chris from Metro Pest Control were, a) the only ones open; and b) the only ones willing to come right away and not charge an arm and a leg! But unfortunately it had started to rain but he promised to come the next morning (Sunday). So come Sunday at 10:00am, Chris came and confirmed with one look that they were carpenter ants. He said that only carpeter ants would excavate holes and galleries like that. So he set to it and sprayed the entire perimeter of the house, the garage inside and out, and the inside of our main floor, "just to be sure" he said. He was so nice! And the whole time he was explaining the product he was using, what it does to the ants, and how to keep this from happening again. He made sure were understood everything. He has over 35 years in the business and it shows! He really cares about the families he's serving and it was a pleasure to have him help us. We would definately recommend him (and already have) and will definately call him again for pest control. Speaking of which....we do have some pesky raccoons running about.....
Thanks Chris!
