We noticed some damage to the aluminum along the sides of a dormer on our roof, and so called Varmint Control. I saw their ad in the yellow pages and it was great! I was told up front that it would cost $100 to come and set the traps, and then $100 to remove them and the critter.
Terry came out the next day and immediately knew it was a raccoon. He set up two traps on either side of the dormer, where the aluminum had been damaged. Sure enough, around 4 a.m., we heard a terrible thrashing around on our roof. Rocky had found the bait (fruit loops). I felt so bad for him. He finally stopped, and I thought for sure he had passed away from fright or a heart attack. Terry came back the next morning and removed the traps. Rocky was huge! And he looked so humbled and feeling sorry for himself that he had been busted. Terry assured me that he would be released in a rural area - so hopefully that is what happened and Rocky has a nice new tree for a home for the winter - instead of our cozy attic. It was a very emotional ordeal - but it was either him or us. We had no choice. I am sure it was Rocky that broke into our compost bin one night, and also raided a chickadee and robin's nest on our property. Terry then returned and repaired the aluminum and secured it so no further raccoons will be able to get in. He also sealed our roof vents with screens to prevent further critters. Very professional and organized and expedient! Very happy with the work, and his attitude and the way he explained everything. And he guarantees his work also. So, hopefully no more Rockys!
