Full HVAC Install

Wanted to convert from electric baseboard heating and ductless air conditioner to gas forced air heating and full house air conditioning , all in a crawl space – big job. I got a couple of quotes but chose Comfort Shoppe because the price was good (not the lowest), the start date was quick and the reviews on Home Stars were glowing. Glen’s team was hard-working , professional and a pleasure to have in my home. They were creative dealing with my small space and adapting to the surprises that always come with retrofit. I will happily recommend them to my neighbours.

Hi Cathy : Doing full installs in Wilmot Creek is always a challenge with the tight crawlspaces and limited room to work . However once done it does make the house a lot more comfortable especially in the winter and a lot cheaper getting off baseboard electric heat . Enjoy the Comfort from The Comfort Shoppe

Thank you Mrs Gallagher for the review on us . Your old Command Aire geothermal pump served you well until the compressor burnt out in it with 20 years of service . The new unit is really cool with a two stage compressor touchscreen thermostat telling you what mode its in plus backup heat for really cold days
With a 10 year equipment warranty the new unit is way better and the quiet ECM motor will keep your Hydro Bills at bay. Thanks again for letting us help you out

Tankless water heater installed

I have dealt with The Comfort Shoppe for the boiler in my investment property for a few years now so when we wanted to install a new water heater we went to the store to discuss options. A recommendation was made to install a tankless model based on the limited space. Initially we were going to do a rent to own program but we later decided to pay for the unit. The appointment was booked and the technicians showed up within minutes of the specified time. They lay down drop clothes to ensure a mess was not made with their boots. Because I could not be at the property all day one of the techs took my cellphone number and promptly texted me to ensure we could communicate as necessary. I checked in with them a few times throughout the day and they gave me a timeline of completion so that I could inspect the job and make payment. The tech took the time to explain further how the unit works and what temperature to set it at. I was impressed with the service and respect I received.

Thank you Karen, for your review. The Navien tankless systems are really nice system, which provide endless hot water. I am sure your tenants will be pleased with the system.
There compact size do make them ideal for small places like your crawl space and or closets. I will pass on the nice message to my techs. Thanks again

Thank You Fran for the kind review .in your case with your old water furnace system and the age and condition of it it was best to replace it with a new geothermal unit . I want to thank you guys for your assistance in helping us by going out of your way to move items to make access very easy. Many customers do not think of this ! Your new system has a 10 year warranty and is a higher BTU output then the older system so at least your energy bills should be reasonable for some time to come .

Lennox furnace and AC

After 25 years of using the original furnace/AC in my house, I thought it was time to replace and upgrade. With there being so many choices, makes, models and configurations, Glenn Trider at The Comfort Shoppe simplified the decision. We chose the "better" Lennox combo of furnace/AC because of the reputation for reliability and using current technology. The i-Comfort thermostate works well to make temperature adjustments as required. We also had a mechanical air cleaner and humidifier installed. The removal of the old system and installation of the new one took 2 days and was accomplished professionally and successfully. It's been working like a charm ever since. We'll have to wait 5 months or more before we can test the AC however. Thanks to all the staff at The Comfort Shoppe.

Hot Tub

We moved to Bowmanville in 2009 to a beautiful private forested 6 acre property. Our house already had a sun room with sliding doors, but no deck yet. It was the perfect location for a hot tub, surrounded by trees. We are also naturists, and the privacy of our new home allowing us to be nude in our out was the primary reason we choose to move from the city. We never had a hot tub before, but being naturists, having our own hot tub was important. We also our running a part time naturist bed and breakfast (Angel Eyes Naturist Bed and Breakfast at bnude.ca) from our home and the hot tub was the perfect addition for our guests. We visited Comfort Shoppe and spoke with Tina and she was very helpful as we made our decision. We loved the idea of choosing a local business and that was one factor in our decision. We choose a model with a built in radio, underwater lights and waterfall. On one side we can recline down, and the other 3 corners have seats of different depths. This allows us to move around the hot tub to have it massage in different ways. I particularly like bed reclining side, as it's great to massage legs after a workout. Myself, I like to run just the jets and relax on a dark star filled night, while my wife and children like the radio and lights. Installing was easy. We hired someone to install a concrete pad for the hot tub. Once it was completed, Comfort Shoppe delivered our new tub. The man installing the pad was surprised at how light the hot tub was as we placed it on the pad. He was also the person who built our deck that surrounds the hot tub. We are very happy with our finished design, and the hot tub, deck, sun room, surrounding forest are all so beautiful. Overall, we're very happy with our purchase and the hot tub and jets work beautifully. And it's perfect in all seasons - especially nice in fall and winter. We did have one problem with the radio in the spring this year. After the winter, the radio just didn't work anymore. We gave Comfort Shoppe a call and they quickly sent someone over to take a look. The trouble was the transformer. They removed the old one and ordered a new one for us. It took a couple weeks for the new one to arrive, and they were quick and friendly to install it and get our radio working again all at no charge to us. We have exercise equipment in the sun room and I love being able to have a workout for a couple hours and then walk outside and relax in the hot tub as my reward for exercising. I've lost 30 lbs in the past 2 years with this routine. Requiring myself to exercise before using the hot tub is a great motivating factor. And having all this in my own home allows me to exercise and use the hot tub all nude -- which is so much better than driving 30 minutes to a fitness club and needing to exercise while wearing clothes. We will use Comfort Shoppe again. We are in the process now of purchasing a new gas furnace from them and spoke with Glenn, the Comfort Shoppe owner, for our furnace purchase. Feel lucky in our new home, as a natural gas main is being installed right now along our road. The previous owners, living here for 30 - 40 years, never had natural gas. And we are here for just 4 years and the natural gas main is coming now -- thanks to the new garbage incinerator coming to nearby Courtice. We should be able to save a lot of money using a natural gas furnace to replace our older electric furnace. The electric one was too expensive to run and we never used it -- instead suffering through our first cold winter burning just wood in our fireplace. Our second winter we used a pellet stove, which works well, but is messy to clean. With the low prices of natural gas now, we're very happy to soon have a gas furnace as we create our little piece of paradise here. We really love our move to Bowmanville, friendly people and see our home having so much potential. We highly recommend Comfort Shoppe for their quality products and service and looking after us for any questions or problems we may have long after the sale is completed.
