Using Capital Movers was one of the most stressful ordeals I have been faced with. Starting with the booking process, they entered my name incorrectly- putting the destination as my last name. Each subsequent call I had to correct them and ask they update it. Once finally finding a place to live I phoned to have the items that were being stored shipped from Toronto to BC. They advised I had just missed the departure date- and provided a new one (as shipments leave twice a month). I phone before the expected day of arrival only to be told there was a delay with the warehouse and someone should have told me. A new expected delivery date was given, and I followed up with that one only to be told it was delayed again. Rinse and repeat-this happened yet again and again for a total of FOUR delays without being notified. Once my goods were finally on the road, I did receive a call from the driver who had a slight language barrier and was confused as Capital Moving office did not provide him with my address (which I had confirmed each of the 4 times I called about the delays in moving). As it wasn't organized prior he seemed confused and unsure if he would even make it. Later that day he did phone to tell me his truck broke down and he hoped to be out the following day. That following day I called him for an ETA of which he could not provide. At work I had to carry my cell all day and have my boyfriend stay at home to receive any call. Only in the afternoon did he advise that he anticipated arriving at 8-9pm. At this time he was still unsure how to find me or if he could. At 10pm he called where he was 30 minutes out. After giving the driver very clear directions on how to find my house (which is very simple to locate) he drove past and I had to get in my car to follow him and re-direct. When finally the truck arrived in my drive way at close to 11pm he asked how I was to pay. Throughout my maaany conversations with Capital Moving, they did not once advise me that payment would go to the driver. At this time he became frustrated that it was late and all I had was credit card- and he would have to phone the office (as they also do not inform you that they won't touch a box until payment is confirmed). They then had issues with my credit card and I was forced to drive up to a bank machine to withdraw payment. Only at that time did they begin moving my items. Once they were complete I advised them that an item was missing (as I had the original contract and pictures of my items it was clear to see what item was missing). The drivers response was "oh, I never saw that?".
All in all, the office is extremely disorganized and seem to have many problems in giving you a straight answer, locating your information or phoning you about delays.
They never advise you on how payment would work, making for a frustrating and troublesome delivery. Drivers need to be coached on how to actually find you.
So finally after 5.5 weeks I have my belongings (or most of it) and very little patience. I warn that you do not ever, ever use this moving company.
