Rubbish removal

Do not trust this company.
604Rubbish team arrived with a 20 to 25 cubic yard truck (my estimate - 8'x7' x 10 to 12' , they never said what the size was) that already had maybe 1/5 to 1/4 load and started loading without providing a cost despite the claim on their website. The rubbish they collected occupied one side of my carport, so was 18' x 5' and wasn't heaped up, so the total volume would have been 4 or 5 cubic yards. After loading they claimed it was 1/2 load even though the truck wasn't close to 1/2 full. (The back door was open and they were standing inside to throw stuff to the front). They then added an extra $ 300 for "environmental" fee to remove chemicals - an old gallon container of anti-freeze and one of window washer, about 1/2 pint of old transmission oil , some left-over stop leak and 2 empty paint cans. ( I later found out on BC recycling web site that there is no fee for dropping off anti-freeze and oil).
When I called the office the guy gave me the run-around, claiming the owner was in Ontario, then in a car accident and was selling the business, then that he just started and was quitting soon. Then offered to pick up another load instead of a refund. They use caller-ID to avoid answering my calls. Had to use a different phone each time.

LUMBER REMOVAL

Requested quote they said someone would be at my home between 1 and 3 PM to give estimate. At 4:00 PM truck arrived
confirmed scrap to be removed the driver then proceeded to loan.
Stopped him and requested price he quoted $250.00. I refused he then quoted $150.00 . I REFUSED he left. An hour later he
returned with another truck and 4 individuals. Intimidation was apparent. I declined their services until they quoted a reasonable price $85.00 and they took the scrap. This firm
should not be allowed to operate. DO NOT USE THEM.

pick up junk and dumping fee

I had a small utility trailor full of garbage. The trailor was not road
worthy so I wanted it and the garbage in it gone. They showed up
in a huge truck that was half full of garbage and told me the cost
would be 250 dollars. I thought that was a little low but was happy to say "go ahead". Anyway my story is almost identical to another review on this site
Sometime after they started working another overkill truck showed up which also had 1/2 a load in it and they threw a couple of items in that. They tried to charge me for two trucks at 1200 dollars per truck. I ended up paying $1650.00 to these thives Better Business Brueau is my next call .

604-Rubbish

When I phoned up to get guidelines about what the price would be to have my junk removed the person on the phone told me that they simply charge 100$ per quarter of the truck, so a full load would be 400$, and that price included everything including the dumping fee. That was the only price quoted to me, and they said "truck". I even asked if it was as simple as that, no specifications and the person said yes. I booked an appointment for them to come at 4pm. They called me up at about 3 and told me they would be late, closer to 5. By 5 they had not arrived. At about 5 20 they called me up, and a person who i could hardly understand over the phone told me they were on their way and to give them directions to find my place. After asking them to repeat themselves a few times I finally was able to provide very specific directions using north south east and west rather than turn right or left. I spelled out roads and everything. Half an hour later they give me a call again, they don't know where to go, are lost again. After them calling me 5 more times and me standing out in the street in the rain they finally found it. They came into my place and never gave me a quote when they arrived, they just started hauling. Then, because their truck was near full when they arrived, they had to call a second truck. Finally, at around 7pm they finally finished, then tried to charge me 2500 dollars, though they very "kindly" offered to take 500 off because they were late. I'd like to point out that I had 2 sofas, 1 coffee table, 1 old tv, and some garbage bags to be collected. I was furious, the man told me that the 100$ per quarter load was for the pickup truck and not the big truck. And again, they never told me this when they arrived. When I pointed all of this out they told me that most of the people who call their service already know how much it would cost, like it was my fault for not being able to give myself a quote. He also told me that 1000$ was the dumping fee. I was moving out of my house that day so I had to pay the 1400 which is what I managed to get the price down to. This was on the 30th of November 2013. They are an absolutely terrible, unprofessional service that takes advantage of young females on their own. DO NOT USE THEM!!

Concrete removal

They falsely advertise their price for concrete removal, and have refused to change the pricing information on their website despite several requests to do so. They also pressure you into using their service once they're at your place.

I originally contacted them to remove some concrete debris from my property because they advertised the lowest price of any company I could find for concrete removal. They advertised $100/cu yd on their website, compared to $250 - $600/cu yd for other companies. However, when they got to my place they said it'd be about $400/cu yd. I said that their website states otherwise, but he kept giving excuses about it being really heavy, it's labour intensive, it's expensive to dispose of (which actually isn't true, as I found out later: there are very cheap ways to get rid of concrete), etc, etc. Unfortunately I needed the concrete gone really soon and he was pressuring me to do it, so I gave in, but instead just got them to take away half of it, for $450 with tax.

I've e-mailed them multiple times requesting that they change the information on their website to reflect their true price of concrete removal, but I have never received a response. I also filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Advertising Standards Canada, but 604-RUBBISH ignored these associations' attempts to contact them.

In short: they do false advertising, they ignore customer complaints, they ignore the BBB and ASC, and they pressure you once they get to your place. There's a reason they have a grade of F on BBB. DO NOT USE 604-RUBBISH!

Junk removal

I can't disagree more with the other reviews on this site. Check Yelp and BBB and avoid these guys! Definitely do not give them your credit card over the phone. They quoted one number and then charged me another. Now they won't respond to my calls to ask them what happened. I'm giving them 1 star because at least they took the garbage away before they ripped me off.

Shed removal and disposal

We finally decided to get rid of the eye-sore in our backyard, a decrepit old shed. It probably housed a family of mice! The family operated junk removal company is very professional and efficient. After explaining my situation they told me the price up front. How great is that? They arrived on time and removed the shed and broken parts. I would hire them again!
